A lot of people are getting hung up on the idea of the secondary slot as the "pistol slot" or "side arm slot" or "backup weapon slot". The game needs to have options available to do every job, in every slot. Those options have their own drawbacks because of which slot they occupy. This is what has allowed the build diversity that we're seeing. A dedicated anti-tank and structure buster on the secondary slot takes a lot of pressure off the Support Weapon slot, which has been by-and-large dominated by the RR, Quasar, and Commando in public play since the 60-day patch. The thermite grenade buff helped, but that's just 1 slot. The Double Edge Sickle with medium pen is like having a primary slot Machine Gun. And if you use fire armor and vitality, it's a Machine Gun with no ammo limit.

The new Sickle is amazing to kill Harvesters. It's fast and take a little less than half a mag

Yeah me and my brother usually two man hd2. We usually do lv8 bugs. We can do lv10 if we feel like it. After the patch it definitely seems harder. On lv8 , we can still complete the main objective but seem to run out of time before we can do a full map clear. Fights with bug breaches seem to go on forever.
