Very powerful video!! I am 90 days in w/out twisting my hair and it has not been easy because you get so use to twisting!! But I told myself I would only retwist every season.. So I will embrace this Journey. Thank you for the very informative video. #loveandlight

Thank you so much Nichole! Oh wow, that's amazing... that you've challenged yourself and pushed through. I love that concept of retwisting with each season - I've not heard that approach before. I appreciate you for sharing that here with me. You are most welcome. I hope my content continues to serve you well 🤓❤🌿

I have been on my lock journey for 28 years and yes, it is a journey and every persons journey is different. I have very fine duck fluffy hair that has to be re-twisted or it will just sit on my head, break off or try and run away to the loc next to it 🤣. I learned the hard way that free forming is not for my locs and had to attach more than I care to talk about to the loc next to it. Anyway, I learned that my locs will always have an inch and sometimes an inch and a half of unlocked hair at the head due to growth and change. Oily scalp so I wash my locs every three weeks, re-twist every 9 to 12 weeks. Moisturize once a week. this works for me but it took time for me to get where I am today with my locks. I learned to oil my locs when they are wet cause they do love the water and a little oil keeps them soft and supple. If I oil them when they are dry, they will stay dry, drawn in and look crazy. For those who want thicker locs, it all depends on genetics. How many hairs grow on you head determines the thickness. You can't change that so, get over it and love what you have. I love my locs!

My first set of locs was 2008. This is my first set.. 2024. I've learned to let it go, more than I ever thought I would. Enjoying the process and the journey. Looking in the mirror and loving it.

Hi Olivia!! I came across your page and couldn't believe I finally see someone whose hair is just like mine. Needless to say I immediately subscribed. I'm 2 years (on December 17th this year) locked. Love how you cleared up the retwist dilemma. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos. 😊

Hey =) Thank you. I really appreciate you for taking the time to watch my videos and enjoying the content. Welcome new subscriber! I took a break from posting content but will be back soon to share more and updates, which I hope you like too. My loc anniversary is on December 16th, so we're close. I'll be 3 years this year. Understanding unravelling and retwisting was one of the best lessons I learned early on, as it help to manage my expectations better.
