Fun fact for dmc3 he improvised quite a bit because the writers and director had some conflicting thoughts on Dantes behavior. So Langdon just did his own thing. He really is into this character.

Just when I thought he couldn't possibly get any cooler, he pops out Hamlet. To me there is only one Dante: Reuben's. He's funny, cocky, badass, kind: one handsome devil. That snarky tone just adds that certain something to the one-liners and dialogue. So happy to hear DMC5 Dante is Reuben's again! March can't come fast enough!

Because it's a retcon. Hideaki Itsuno was trying to create a passable link to an already established character. Just to justify bringing in this new unneeded character that is irrelevant to the series. For diversity reasons. Just like with Morrison New appearance and personality. Nico was is just a revised version of kat from DmC reboot. She even lies about being a blood relative to Neil Goldstein a character from The Devil May Cry 1 novel that was removed from Canon when the third game was crafted. The funny part about her she's not even a blood relative she's just related to somebody who's related to her lol. I'm saying her last name is a bold face lie she's not a Goldstein.
