My youngest (he was 5 at the time) came home from school terrified because the kids were saying elves were running through their houses during the night and my son’s comment was “I hope those elves don’t get into our house.” That solved that problem.

I used to tell kids that they put elf on a shelf in the store for the naughty kids that aren’t nice enough to have one visit them.

So, we had an Elf when my son was little (around 3 years old) he’s now 17 and we still get a visit from Buddy every season. It’s fun since my son is the one that moves him ☺️

My son started asking for an elf when he started school. Last year Santa sent him a lazy gnome because all the elves needed to stay at the north pole to work and Santa gnomes were not very good at making toys.

It’s great you have an elf your kids are so worth the effort! It’s just fun and in our world we need fun!

You adopt an elf when you purchase him/her. Our elf shows up on dec 1 and leaves for the north pole after Christmas. Our elf is not mischievous, just hides in a new spot everyday.

Our elf is not naughty. I use it as a fun hide and seek game. Today our elves Jingle Bells and Jangle Bells put up some twinkly lights in the hallway for my 3 year old to find! 😇

The open letter from the creator of Bluey is he is basically stepping back from the series for now, possibly forever. He suggested The Sign (thst long 30 min episode) would basically function as a series finale if no one else continued it.

Oh definitely read the book! It'll make sense. We got the elf that came out with a book and dvd 12 yrs ago. Your family picks out the elf from the store and the elf becomes your family elf. Hide him or her in your closet after Christmas, in a box labeled elf backwards. We've been doing this for 13 yrs!! Our teen boys love it along with their 9 yr old sister. We have so many memories of this!! It's worth the late nights and prepping for. Maybe one day Luke will do this for his kids ❤ lol stopping in a yr or 2..good luck 😂

Merry Christmas Nick & Tim🎄 I have thoroughly enjoyed every single episode of the two of you❤ Nick ..side note... I've been putting my 3 elves (Rosa, Elfa flower and Shivers) in a purse I never use in my closet. They went away 24th morning to help Santa out. They brought Xmas jammies ( matching & tradition) too! Happy New Year 🎉🎉

The first time I ever had a muscato d'asti was on a Disney cruise in 2000. Lovely wine. Agree, we leave Santa cookies, hot chocolate and a big ol glass of ice water. 😂

Funny story on grey hair...my hair has been greying since I was in my 20s. Now I'm in my 40s and it's just pretty much all grey. The other day I was at a birthday party for one of my son's friends and one of his other friends asked me if I was grandma and I asked why, and they responded because my hair was grey 😂

I hide the elves in my laptop bag all year; and they bring the advent calendars (do you have those in America) on December 1st. Temu has a lot of elf packages to help with sneaky ideas

When I was a toddler teacher (best age!) A parent made the call for us to get an Elf on the Shelf. We had fun with it for years. I never did anything elaborate. I did have a ln opening teacher do some fun things one year - like hanging from the ceiling or climbing something. Patches would bring in cookies on my birthday 🎂 for all of us to share. It was fun and cute. However these kids weren’t going to school talking about what elaborate things their elf at home did and there being a possible sad friend bc they didn’t have one or their was… not as adventurous as others due to their age. We also made reindeer special food.I don’t have kids and really miss this time of year w the kiddos.

The Elf's in the shop are not the magical elves that santa send, those are non magical cousins! Also, the elves in our house hide in a separate Xmas bag that the stocking etc live in!! x

Our elf is not naughty and doesn't get into things and make a mess, she just moves around the house and leaves little gifts. We store her in our closet separate from all the Christmas items.

I personally dont understand why kids have to believe it's all real. Kids are the best age for make believe, and make believe doesn't necessarily make it less fun. When I have kids I'll tell them it's a fun make believe game, but other kids dont know, so we want to respect the other kid's families' and keep it a special secret until the other kiddos find out elsewhere.

Are parents these day so self-absorbed that they can't move a simple 5oz stuffed doll for 24 days????? These are core memories for your kid, traditions that will be carried on. never ever negate that in any way. Enjoy all ofit, sooner than you know you will be wishing to move an elf for your littls. Im old now, 8 grandbabies, Every moment counts, even the ones considered mundane or silly. Merry Christmas to you all

All this elf talk no mention of the famous Elf Tally at WDW in the parade ?
@kristiemoore7741Күн бұрын
Yeah, I don't know how to say it nicely either. But elves only come for bad kids. I explained to my son. That he's not a bad kid, so an elf doesn't need to be here to watch him
@Katie_is_creatingКүн бұрын
I agree with Nick, there's nothing really inappropriate in Wicked for children. The bullying is a good conversation starter if the child even mentions it. My daughter has seen it twice and she is seven. She loves wicked with every ounce of her being. She's desperate to go see it in london just to find out the ending before next November. I would say I think the film is a traditionally girly film which is probably why your boys were a bit bored.
@BlitzjewelКүн бұрын
But also be aware that the book is NOT for children, and even for some tweens could be a bit much with no context. I’ve seen a lot of book stores displaying it alongside the kids toys for the books and what-not and, I won’t lie I feel bad for any parents who might get it for their tween because uhhhhhhhhhh Oh Boy.
@Katie_is_creatingКүн бұрын
@Blitzjewel oh yes I am aware of this. Thanks for commenting though. I would be mortified if I was an unknowing parent who bought my daughters those books. She has the dolls and that will do 😊

Hot take, I don’t like the Rankin Bass Holiday shows! My husband loves them and I hate them. Most of the story lines make no sense, most of the songs are not good and the characterizations are awful! 😣
