@EvaAnika Thank you and Wow Pastor Butts will be deeply missed. I moved back home to Nj 2 years ago. I use to live 137th and Adam Clayton Powell. I can't remember the person but she introduced me to the church and i would take my daughter who was a teen at the time. He was an amazing and wonder Pastor and i made it my favorite church. The best time i ever spent there with him was New Years Eve. It was a sentimental evening heartfelt and just serine and laidback it felt like i was there with family just a wonderful experience another time. I went on a Sunday and a woman was sitting next to me we were shoulder to shoulder because it was so many people there we had to squeeze in like pancakes. I never looked at the woman in her face i kept looking at the baby he was alittle fussy and she was trying to calm him down i kept smiling at him and she whispered and apologized. I told her she was fine when i looked up at her to my surprise it was Tamron Hall haha. I was shocked. Another Sunday i didn't have money on me to give to the church so i one evening came back with an envelope and put it through the church door slot and each time i would walk there i would get this feeling like my soul was tied to be there as if that was a mission i had to accomplish in my lifetime. Nothing is a coincidence everything happens for a reason. I went through alot after abruptly moving to NY with no plan living there almost 3years and having to move back home through covid because of major surgery and getting hury through it. I will never forget the most amazing experiences i had that will never leave my memory and for sure. I will not forget Pastor Butts and his Wife. He once annoited me with holy oil aswell and that was a blessing within itself. I believe that church is a historic place of worship but not just for anyone to step in it's secret and who ever this Pastor is i pray for him because he has to be a special kind of spiritual be apart of it or the lord will remove him or anyone else.💔🕯🪽🕊🕊🕊🙏

Less concern about the Bible and doctrine? That's a good thing? This guy is a wilf in sheep clothing.

He said young people are less concerned about the Bible and doctrine. Does saying that make him a Wolf? I noticed that as well.

Less concerned does not equal complete disregard. It isn't uncommon for churches to be caught in being overly Biblical to the point that the doctrine is relatively unsound. It's like wht evangelicals who preach "we should love our neighbors" but at every turn their actions reflect disregard for people who don't look like them.

This also raises a flag for me. If your young people are less concerned about the Bible, then the future of your church is likely in danger.

Think he is misunderstood. He uses Bible and doctrine in his sermons. He has a packed church every Sunday and bring more people to Christ. He is about progress and giving the next generations more than just words. He is doing in his community and has several outreach programs.

I wouldn't say he was a wolf but it is troubling for a preacher making a statement that young people are less concerned about the Bible. Isn't that the job of a Pastor to be concerned about the Bible? That statement needs clarity. A journalist would not have picked up on that but a believer would.
