On January 18, 1990, Marion Barry was arrested with a former girlfriend, Hazel Diane "Rasheeda" Moore, in a sting operation when he got caught on videotape at the Vista International Hotel by the FBI and D.C. police for crack cocaine use and possession. When he was arrested for crack cocaine possession in an FBI sting operation, then-D.C. Mayor Marion Barry famously said of his former girlfriend, "B***h set me up.". The arrest and subsequent trial precluded Barry from seeking re-election, and he served six months in a federal prison.
