I have a 7.3 in my F250 with a 10 speed. I have to say it's defiantly one of the best engines I have owned to date. Torque down low. But lay on the throttle and the 7000lb truck gets up to 95 quick.

Guess I'd like to see something closer to the stock design with a more desirable throttle body location. 6,000 RPM is plenty for most street applications, why give up that nice bottom end torque. Just my humble opinion.

So if one was to go with the Indy dual plane intake and run say a Holley EFI Flow X, then you wouldn’t need another ECU controller correct? Especially if you were running a manual transmission. I suppose you could ditch the fuel rails too?

That is interesting, but why would you go to a T.B.I. over a rail injection? I am old school as anyone, but that makes no sense. I surely don't want a carb on an engine that advanced. I guess if you were doing a carb and limited tech car class build it would be a monster...
@revanevan3 жыл бұрын
Holley Sniper or similar is easy to install and get running. Plus they are cost effective, but I see your point.
@RyTrapp03 жыл бұрын
This intake doesn't look very adaptable to port EFI, the angle on the fuel injector bungs would be completely wrong to the geometry of the runners vs a traditional pushrod V8 4150 intake If you want a port EFI intake that isn't factory, wait for someone to drop a single plane or tunnel ram. I have no doubt the single is coming, really hope we see a Holley Hi-Ram-style tunnel ram, but a quality affordable single plane at the lower end and sheet metal/billet tunnel rams at the upper end will probably make a cast tunnel unlikely.

... and what if they made a 7.3L "Coyote" ...?
@jerryshobbies82243 жыл бұрын
Ford didn't make the 5.0 and then put a "Coyote Kit" on it. "Coyote" was Ford's name for the 5.0 project while they were working on designing the motor. "Godzilla" was the name for the 7.3 project.
@rprzen20993 жыл бұрын
What gives with all the sudden hype of the "godzilla" ? Its like pushrods and rocker arms are all the rave now like its some sort of new high tech thing. It's 110 year old technology. Ford built a beast with the 6.2 but crickets from the performance community. Like what the hell? Why were there no twin cam heads? No real performance support at all for the 6.2. The coyote got a ton of attention but not the 6.2. So now what do we do? We go back 20 years and build a push rod motor again but with the advancements of the 6.2 in the bottom end. I still stand with the 6.2 and wish like hell it would get the performance support it is due.
