I'm taking delivery later this week of a Royal Alloy 125 GT. If someone of your experience approves: I know I've made the right choice! Beautiful machine.

Great review. This will be my second scooter as of next year when my daily rider is paid out. I'll have to clear out the shed though as this beauty will NOT be left out in the rain!! I can't wait.

I have had a Royal Alloy for 2 years now, I didn't have a problem until around 4500 miles then it has had problem after problem. I have had it serviced 4 times since I have had it, so it is not due to neglect. I have had a new chrome exhaust, front pads changed twice, back once, new battery, 2 new tyres and now the starter motor is knackered, on my last service I asked if they could look at my indicator switch because it also wasn't working correctly. When they tried to fix it the speedo fell apart and they are on back order with no available delivery date. I have had to call Green Flag twice as it wouldn't start. So it is stuck in the shed doing nothing. Hardly any mechanics will touch any Chinese scooters because all the parts are of a poor quality and hard to obtain. Plus the linked braking system is very awkward service, on the plus side, they do look good.

The royal alloy range has been one of the better brands to come out of china Parts are hard to obtain due to covid and deliveries. Motogb know the clocks are an issue and are sorting this. As for the linked brakes being an issue they are really easy to do if your mechanic knows what he is doing correctly, loads of videos on here about bleeding or changing fluid in linked brakes. Hopefully you get it sorted and out on it soon, be well and ride safe

I am no mechanic so I cannot really comment on the intricacies of how to actually service the brake system. I do know that the mechanic that works on my bike is very adept and knowledgeable. I can totally understand your stance and why you would be trying to maintain the reputation of this bike. The fact is it is a very new bike with a number of teething issues that may eventually be ironed out. The supply issues were prevalent before the COVID outbreaks unfortunately, it seems they have mainly focused on the cosmetic side with a range of flashings, seat covers, chrome crash bars etc. I cannot comment on the GP or the TG as I have never owned one, hopefully they are made more robustly. I don't mean to throw a spanner in the works its just a shame that it seems that after such a space of time that it has just become a money pit, all the best, hope these problems are rectified.

Oh I forgot, the accelerator cable totally rusted through and snapped aswell, the mechanic said he had never seen that before in a bike that was 2 years old.

Service is 6 months intervals, it does tell you in the manual. I have gt, love it. A few common niggles are 1 speedo sensor breaks, 2 head steering bearing can tighten up, feels jerky to turn. Its a quick fix. All under warranty. Battery can be poor, most change to a better quality battery.

Thank you for the review. I am seriously thinking about a Royal Alloy 125 but it’s pretty hilly where I live and I wondered how it would cope with hills, would I get in everyone’s way?
@RevBombUK3 жыл бұрын
The royal alloy has a lot more hp than most 125's and is so much better a scooter only issues we found were with the speedos not working correctly or the speedo sender. But warranty covers it if it does play up

@@RevBombUK Thank you, I had a look at them at the weekend and I am impressed by the build quality. I think I will go for the LC model with better performance.

I have had to give up motorcycles due to a bad back, so I'm swapping my CBR 500R for a Royal Alloy GT 300, they haven't got any Azure blue but they have a back order of +25 and won't be here until January, so I am going to get it for march 23 plate👍🇬🇧

Check it pulls through the gear ok or if a twist and go it gets up to speed, check the brake operations, it holds a straight line. Sit it at a steady 40mph if a new bike and make sure it doesnt have any running issues, Always make sure if its a new bike first 311 miles at 40mph get a service done then ride at 50mph up to 932 miles second service and then your good to go. thats the service and running in for Lexmoto bikes and scooters that are 125cc most bikes will be about the same. Be well ride safe and go easy if your on new tyres for at least 50 miles also make sure you do a weekly bolt check and check your chain tension and oil levels
