Steering feel does not refer to the weight of the steering wheel, nor does it refer to how quickly the body reacts when the steering wheel is turned. Lung Sir will explain what steering feel is, and why steering feel is highly emphasised by many driving enthusiasts. In fact, the steering feel has a lot to do with the suspension design, as well as the shape of the car body. When many car fans change the four-wheel alignment, caster angles have a great impact on the steering feel. Of course, the king pin inclination (KPI for short) or steering axis inclination (SAI for short) in the steering system is also very important. Everyone is confused first, the content of this episode is indeed more in depth, but after you understand it, you can more or less understand why after the popularity of electric power steering (commonly known as electric steering), classic cars or Japanese JDM have become so popular in the past ten years , because of some old-style designs, the driver has a strong feedback on the handling of the car, and the steering feel is one of the feedbacks.

Finally HK has someone doing a proper car channel. Support. Also, an additional comment. As mentioned, one common misconception is that the harder the steering feel the better. For most race car engineers when they are doing design from scratch, they actually want to have only just enough of scrub radius to make sure the steering feel is consistent. I think Mr Lung can have a top down view of suspension to discuss why we need some scrub but not a lot. And why it's bad to have too little scrub radius. Also, why having small offset but extra wheels sometimes will kill a car's feeling. Relationship between wheel width and King pin. These are all very common topics relating to steering feel/scrub radius but people just have no idea what they are talking about.

Got one nissan old car vs one new golf.. the feedback from road is completely different as mentioned, although the old car is not that comfy but the feedback from the wheels is damn good, really know the road conditions and while corners, you can feel the "limit" of how far can it go. Golf then cannot or very less through the wheel feedback, but increase in handling and more comfortable ride. Give and take for all these.
