I'm a bank fisherman. I hunt carp from the levee roads of the California Delta's 1000 miles of riverbank. The channels are maintained for deep ocean cargo vessel passage so it's not easy to drag bottom to find type and depth. I could put the Deeper Chirp+ 2 to good use hunting freshwater submarines. I had a scenario last week where I was aware of a high spot in a lake that looked favorable for the weather conditions. It took a fair few casts to find it with a lead and float. Theres no doubt that disterbance negatively affected the area. With the Chirp 2, potentially one cast would have found it, minimal disturbance and fishing a lot quicker. well that was simple and straight to the point. the chirp 2 would be a huge bonus for me as the lake i fish is weedy and the fish spook easily, this could be cast out long and pulled back to find the clearer spots without scaring the fish down to the opposite end of the lake.

Having just joined a new club it would really help me out in mapping new waters so I can get a feel for the lake. Local knowledge is always the best but I do like going my own way just a little bit too, on those sessions where you’re strapped for time being able to use something like this would make finding my own spots so much quicker and simpler. I would like to win the deeper chirp as my brothers always say that they are the better fishermen. They are older than me and always say that I need to "learn more". The deeper chirp has three beam frequencies, crisp clarity and extreme accuracy which makes it ideal for quickly locating fish holding spots, pinpointing predator fish and fishing in extreme depths. Although my brothers make fun of me sometimes we use fishing time as a way to bond and keep our relationship as brothers strong. I've been able to play around with a deeper from a mate, and yea I'm sold. it's a proper bit of kit. And way more mobile and user friendly than most sonar options out there. And knowing what a situations is like under the surface is a huge gamechanger for any angler.

I had an earlier model, now in a bush on an island in South Cerney, well disguised can't find it. Very effective bit of kit for mapping a swim. Still use a lead mind you. Above all, I had fun using it.

Many of the lakes I fish have an issue with Canadian pond weed which makes using a marker rod set up very tough either at short or long range. So having a deeper to show me what is under the surface of the water, not only fish location but also where the clear spots and various features are, which would be a really game changer. With weedy lakes, fishing on clear spots can really be the difference to getting takes or not. This is not just fishing at range, I am sure it would be something I would use at short range also, to help find clearer areas to present my bait with lead rigs and float fishing waggler rigs. No one wants to bait up a weed bed.

Well after spending a week fishing with 3 people who all had boats and sonars attached to them it, it really did open me eyes to how technology really can give you an extra edge when it comes to locating features and depths on a weedy lake with the minimal disturbance and less risks of losing tackle in the deep, thick weed beds. Had a baby so very limited on time now...on one lake I've just started, a small tricky syndicate which apparently is almost solid weed in summer. This would save leading/boating causing disturbance on the baiting pole! And the other big reservoir it would save hours popping a float up to the surface to find the hidden shelves/bars! Sessions are sparce now so need to make the most of the little fishing time I get... although when the boy is old enough he will still learn/master the marker float set up!

This great for finding and avoiding snags on the big reservoirs I like to fish, also good for finding the depth the carp are sat at on deep waters so you can either find features at a similar depth or perhaps get a zig in front of them.

I do quick overnighters as I’ve got work and family priorities over fishing and don’t have the time to be markering a whole swim sadly. The Deeper chirp 2 would make my fishing easier because my lake has a dam that is controlled by the Canal Trust. As they control the water they often open the gates and release water to top up other areas further down the system. This plays havoc with water levels so each year I have to remeasure my spots. I'm trying to get to a medium lvl and the lakes I go to have 20+kg carps, sturgeons etc. It would really benefit me to know the features of the buttom of the lakes, where the big carps feed especially in colder weather like the months ahead, and in summer it would help me find the deeper spots. The only thing that is still missing from my kit is a fish finder. The Deeper would give me so much extra possibilities with my bait boat, dinghy and when casting from shore. Dropping a marker lead 30 times does not add to the chances of me catching fish so a Deeper would make life a lot easier in that area. Br Michiel
