Should have chosen NRL teams that share the names with the NFL. Like the Broncos v Raiders, (this one makes the most sense since not only is the game being played in Las Vegas where the LV Raiders play, but i'm pretty sure these NFL teams are also "Rivals"), Panthers v Cowboys, and maybe even a 3rd match between the Dolphins v Titans. Then on top of that could have had official NFL x NRL merch, where the teams that share names mix their jerseys, i.e. Brisbane x Denver Broncos, Dallas x North Queensland Cowboys, and Carolina x Penrith Panthers etc.

​@@ethanriice8456 it's not an excuse mate it's a fact - they spent 2 years away from their families living out of hotel rooms. If they didn't participate the NRL wouldn't have gone ahead, V'landys and many people in the NRL have said that on the record and promised that there would be some compensation. Now that Covid is over they haven't been given anything, apart from one Tiger's home game being moved to NZ. I'm not even a Warriors supporter but I just find it pretty shameful! This season they're attracting some of the biggest average crowds out of all the NRL teams and represent a country of 5 million people. They're also from NZ which is already known globally for the All Blacks - seems pretty easy to market?

As a Warriors fan I am glad we are not going.Long hyped up trip playing in a totally different time zone is hardly the ideal start to a season plus the temptations the world's gambling capitol offers. Nah just stay at home keep it low key like this year heading into the season. This is just another over hyped marketing ploy with the real aim of tapping into the huge American gambling market.

I'm really excited to be going to Las Vegas for this doubleheader. I have the NRL app and watch the matches during the week since the game times are not feasible for me (anywhere between midnight and 4 AM starts in NYC, depending on where the game is played).

*IF YOU EVER* go to Las Vegas chances are you'll fly into Los Angeles, and you should definitely visit three places while you're in that part of the US: the Grand Canyon; Hoover Dam; and Giant Forest, where you can see the giant Sequoias, the largest trees in the world. Each of these sites is awe-inspiring. It makes a great road trip too. I hired a convertible Mustang, put the top down, and loved every minute.

Fox Sports 2, which is available on about 75% of satellite and cable systems in the USA, shows one or two NRL matches per weekend live. Fox Soccer Plus (an additional-pay tier) broadcasts three or four more per weekend, so there is a bit of an NRL presence in America.

Daniel, you probably know American school and university sports well to say that. Can you explain to us why RL will never be played in American schools? After all, the Yanks have implemented in their schools a very strange sport... men's soccer. 😄 So, a little more a little less, why not RL?

@@daunte8106 Because as good as no Americans have ever heard of Rugby League and they have no interest in discovering it. Rugby Union is only played at some elite schools and in Universities. Mainstream American schools have American football locked in. Soccer is a different enough sport to American football to be seen as something different and it is the most massive sport in the entire world. League is some small time rinkadink mutant child of Rugby Union that is too similar to American football. Even if the highly unlikely event of a significant portion of US society even becoming aware of Rugby league existing ever occurs; they will not take to it. They will just see it as an inferior sport to American football and a waste of time. Especially when they see men rolling balls backwards with their feet. Drop the funny cowardly delusion & dishonesty and face reality for a change.

RL may no longer be different enough from their favorite contact sport, with all its borrowing from gridiron football rules (while RU is taking rules from RL. Go figure). RU is now also played in non-elite establishments, it has really benefited from the decline in the number of gridiron football players. Another result of this decline is that gridiron football is no longer locked-in in mainstream American schools. Many closed their "program" (as the Yanks say) of this sport, and some then opened a men's soccer program, believe it or not! One could argue that gridiron football is also a child of RU, and that did not prevent it from taking over in the USA. As a result, many Yanks might see RU as an inferior sport to gridiron football. Especially when they see men doing pick and gos endlessly.

And can you name one of these rules league fans keep alleging that Union copied from league? Didn’t think so. Union may have little hope in the USA but league has no hope whatsoever. Well as they said they only need to tap into 0.1% of their market and the NRL will benefit from it. I’m a huge RU fan but the game isn’t that marketable. It can be a bore to watch and long to learn. The national teams are RU marquee teams so it’s hard to market as USA fans will only go for USA lol. I think the NRL can grow a lot quicker then what RU has done. The game is quicker, simpler and there’s a lot more access to it’s players - similar to American sports.
