They don't take vows as it says in the bible, and focus on there being two kingdoms, the kingdom of this world and the kingdom of God. Because of this, they don't vote or hold public office. They see church community as very important. They also strongly believe in non-resistance (no war). Other than these things, they seem similar to baptists, but are arminian not calvinist.
@steve4bees9352 жыл бұрын
Romans, I am very familiar with them. I would not call them Armenian or Calvinistic. Yes much like baptists, and that's because what became the baptists were heavily influenced by Mennonites in Belgium. The video just didn't go into much about their beliefs. And missed the boat because of this.

I was raised Mennonite, grew up in St. Jacobs, and know some of the people in this documentary. In fact, my first home was on one of the farms in this program. Unfortunately, Tevya seems afraid/unable to engage with the Mennonite community as equals in this program. I'm not sure what's happened in his life to make him feel that this style of inquiry is informative or respectful. I hope, Tevya, that if ever someone chooses to investigate your history, belief system, and lifestyle they will take you seriously. You deserve that. So do we.

There are so many different denominations of Mennonites that all have some differences. I met a liberal Mennonite couple that drove to my state to pick up a puppy. The husband wore normal men's clothing while his wife wore an old fashioned dress and bonnet. I asked if they lived without electricity, like the Amish, and they told me they were allowed to have electricity. I think the ones in America may be more liberal. I also wish this video had concentrated on their religious beliefs, that's what interests me most.

The Mennonites share a similar lifestyle tradition with that of the First Nations People before and after colonization. Indigenous individuals had a mix of Catholic and Anglican influences alongside their native cultures, resulting in a lifestyle that closely resembled that of Mennonites. Sometimes, I find myself wishing for someone who embraces the "oneness doctrine" and lives that lifestyle, although such an individual has not emerged yet. While I don't personally align with Mennonite doctrines, I wholeheartedly appreciate their fresh and beautiful lifestyle, which resonates with my own beliefs. Their emphasis on living off the land, sharing resources, minimizing waste, and embracing a diligent work ethic are aspects of their lifestyle that I deeply admire. Combining the Mennonite lifestyle with the doctrines of Oneness apostolic beliefs, while also adopting an off-grid approach to the world, would indeed create a truly ideal scenario, often referred to as "The Apostleship." This concept involves embracing only the Mennonite lifestyle and adhering solely to the Oneness Apostolic doctrines. Sincerely, - First Nation Name Believer

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. What does this mean? Well, it means you should try to depict things you can't see. God, heaven, hell or... idk. Some sort of big sea monster. It doesn't mean that taking a picture of an item, or a person is wrong, or even something like a fish. You shouldn't falsely depict something, and you can't honestly depict something you haven't seen. Even something like all the images of Jesus aren't completely honest. I think not letting someone take a picture of you is silly. There are many good reasons to avoid being photographed, but Exodus 20:4 isn't one in my opinion.

At one time I favored the Minnonites mostly for their piety. But at the moment, The Gates of Hell have apparently prevailed here in Los Angeles and there seems to be nothing that they or anyone else can do about that. They are defeated. I don't think they know that they have been defeated So, they show up here in downtown Los Angeles pandering. That's the Invisible purpose of their being here in the community. I'm from a so called Minority group but I'm also a Vietnam Veteran 71 years old. I did 20 years in the Military okay. I have a personal Philosophy. " You do your thing and I do my thing" but Don't judge me because of my Culture. These two groups of People do just that. If I take my wife to the clinic they all give me this second look " what are you doing in my Space"?. I respect all people and I never ever judge anyone because of greed color or religion. I don't care. These people the Mennonite & Amish practice a form of Insecurities of who are they? What do they want? Why are there Here? Why are they speaking a strange language? Why they dress like that? It goes on and on and on. Trust and Love and Empathy is Not in their Hearts. Okay. Let's leave it there. One thing I know. I do have Love & Empathy in My Heart.
