I wonder why Kipchoge not congratulating KIptum publicly is an issue, people are actually criticizing Kipchoge because they expected Kipchoge to be Jealous but he remained calm and silent which is wise... Kenya doesn't deserve Kipchoge, given the deliberate attempts by the media to discredit him and implicate him in the death of Kiptum. His longevity as the world's greatest marathon runner is unprecedented. He has worked hard, mentored others, and lived humbly, like a virtual monk in a dormitory un camp. Kiptum was only 24, a young man who had reportedly been out at a bar and driving home at 11:00pm at night (Kipchoge is apparently in bed by 9:00pm while training). Kiptum ran off the road in his car late at night and very sadly died in a tragic accident. No amount of unfairly attempting to destroy Kipchoge's reputation will change that. He should move his family to The Netherlands and change his citizenship if Kenya doesn't appreciate him and the huge contribution he has made to the country of Kenya and global athletics.

Eliud was present but refused a chance to talk. He requested to speak on live TV but master of ceremony turned him down on advise from the cloud. I heard the speaker asking him to stand for acknowledgement and as he stood, he requested to speak but voices from the cloud turned the request down.
