You are 100% correct - it is CRAZY that we only find out about changes AFTER the IAs have been submitted/marked etc! In my opinion - once the syllabus changes have been announced (every 7 years or so) there should be NO changes in between those times. We shouldn't have to be constantly checking to see if topics, questions or IA criteria have changed within that time period. Also a question - if a student replicates a study on anchoring bias - are you saying they can't use anchoring bias as their theory? What model would they use to describe this? Mine would usually talk about the Dual Process Model, then link it to biases and refer to anchoring bias as an example. Would this still be ok or not?! If not, I'm not sure where to go with this - and I have a group that has done this for the 2022 exam session! :(

"Mine would usually talk about the Dual Process Model, then link it to biases and refer to anchoring bias as an example. " Yes, this is fine. They can talk about biases or effects as long s they are also linked to the model or theory.
