To be fair, we don't know that anyone cheated. We don't know Nana and Grandpa were ever together at the same time as Grandma and Grandpa were; he could have left Grandma *so that* he could be with Nana without cheating. Not saying that's *much* better, but it's at least *somewhat* better than cheating.

That happens more often than you think. It's usually because of a teen pregnancy and the stigma that used to be attached to it. The same principle as sending the pregnant teen to live with a distant uncle/aunt/cousin or grandparent until the birth.
