That's really close to the Yeti SB100 I've been riding and I agree completely with your comments about the descending ability and light weight. I know different bikes but the similarities are many. I think the 100/120 combo is a sweet spot. I've really appreciated it for the ultra endurance races.

Looks awesome. Currently running something similar from Stevens with a 120/120 setup and it feels like a 140 on de descends. With the dual lockout, it is more or less becoming a HT on the climbs. The only “downside” is that it never feels like I am going fast.

My Niner's "old", 2018 RKT9/RDO, is with 90/120 is already a very capable bike. The new one looks like a lot of fun, as you said Niner is a company that puts fun high on the list of priorities! Most riders are not racers, but ride to have fun. Good for Niner to make a bike that's fun to ride and good to race

Awesome stuff ... in our family stable we have a Niner Air 9 and a Jet 9 RDO and love them both. Changing out those incredibly porky XT wheels (almost 2000g) for something light (1500 or less) will save you more than a pound of really noticeable rotational weight. You will love the feel of the bike after ... and yes, I am a weight weenie :)

They've said in previous videos that with Patreon being rather successful and getting a lot of support from Niner that they have been able to be more picky about sponsors and partnerships allowing them to forego sponsorship in some cases to experiment or just run parts they like regardless of affiliation. If they're happy with it and they get everything they need I don't see why they should lock themselves down to a single tire brand.

@@benjaminschuldt6211 agreed, but just like this RKT frame, they would have access to not only cutting edge tech, but also hard to get products. Tires are the most consumable item on the bike as well….I’m sure they go through them like water in comparison to novice/casual/hobbyist riders.

We're 6' (Macky) and 5'11" (Syd) and both ride larges. I think you'd want to go for the XL.

Guess if I had asked about it you would only tell a white little lie about it :-P Although Niner are great looking bikes they are out of the question for me, but the 120/100 or 120/110 is definitely what I look for. Syd, how much do you weigh? I would be super interested in finding out, and how you set up both the front and rear shocks for your lighter weight. (I'm pretty sure there are a lot of women out there who would also like to know how to make suspension work for lighter riders...)

In this video, I probably weighed around 155lb (70kg). I am more like 145lbs now, but still not exactly a lighter rider (i am almost 6ft tall and ride a large frame), so I typically set up my suspension to the factory recommendations for my weight. I know some women run lighter psi or remove tokens in the front fork, because as women we tend to carry less mass in our upper bodies, but I've never felt the need to do that.

@@sydandmacky Thanks for the response. Yeah, you're a good 25lbs heavier than my wife. It would be a great video to ask Fox or Rock Shox how they recommend really light riders to set up there forks. (and rear shocks). We've tried lighter weight oil, low air pressure, etc. But it still seams like we can't get the Fox 34 to 'work' all that well..

Hello there! So I recently was gifted a "Pinnacle Everest" bike. I've been looking to get a bike (beginner) and someone I know just bought an E-bike so he gave me his 20 year old bike lol I'm glad to have a bike but I know nothing about it. Road bike?
