Don’t take this as a shot at Shawn, but if I had received this guitar and I was ready to part with it I would donate it to the Rhoda’s family to be in the museum as I feel it’s the only proper place for it. I know Randy would have been proud of it and would want it shared with all of his fans. God Bless you St. Rhoads.

Wow. I've seen the RR3 on four different channels in the last month. That thing is touring more than most bands! ;-) I have to say, however, that it hurts to see that the guitar was modified since Grover built it. I get that an owner can do what he wants but it would have been nice if it stayed just the way Randy would have received it.

@@BlueberryStinkFinger62 You don't know what you are talking about. Randy was an incredible player and inspired Metal players all around the world. Wanna know the funny part of this video for me? I watched it while holding and playing my OWN first Jackson! Of course, it's a FMIC product instead of being Jackson/Charvel, like the Charvels I owned and lost to theft in the last century, but it was still cool. Now, something that many will not think is cool. Were I as rich as I would need to be to buy Randy's prototype, I still wouldn't! I would actually be more likely to buy a current RR3 or something similar if I wanted that look. I would even more likely just get a good Dinky with a Floyd or something I could modify to taste. My having learned much of guitar modification and adjustment has taken a lot of the mystery out of guitars for me. I'm less taken with the prestige factor and more with taking a given axe and making it more than it was when I got it. Making it MINE! Know what I mean?😎🤘

Good review for the most part but you need to dig a little deeper when approaching such delicate history. It was Randy's idea to put the Jackson Logo on the headstock. The second and third versions of the Concord were tweaked to Randy's exact specifications. Notably the the higher frets reach and size of the frets. Also the body shape was so Randy's specs and design. Randy wasn't happy with the first version so he kept asking for tweaks more to his liking on the next versions. He kept dialing it on so to speak. On the first version Randy was in the shop as they were cutting the body shape and they kept trimming and cutting it into he was satisfied. It's all documented history most of which came from Grover himself. I agree with others, this guitar belongs to the Rhoads family and should be reunited with them. I would also like to know what original parts are missing. It was reported that this guity was not completed at the time it went to namm so they just slapped a bunch of stuff on it that was laying around the shop to get it playable to showcase it at namm.

guitar was bought at NAMM, person who bought I'm pretty sure he knew what he got away with..not sure whatever happened to the guy who actually sold it..I mean what was that guy thinking when he did sell it? In my honest opinion it's part of Randy's legacy, just because he never took ownership of it doesn't mean anything it was the 3rd prototype and honestly belongs with the Rhoads estate.

I would personally pay a lot of money for that guitar because I played it back when Sean was my guitar teacher. We were both about 18 years old and my dad forced me to take four lessons that he prepaid for. I didn't want to take the lessons but I was really glad that I did what I met Sean and I learned from Sean to move quickly and stop smoothly. So if I was a multi-millionaire I'd be willing to part with a quite a large amount of money for that guitar. Even more than he's asking.

What a great thing to be able to experience Max. I hope this memory stays with you forever and many thanks for taking us along for the ride. I've always wanted one of the new JS Rhoads to play round with. I would really hope a little of the DNA from this guitar is still present.

If I played and money was no object $250,000 would be the minimum even up to $2,00,000 would be worth it

Go fund me so Max can buy it instead of some lawyer or CEO! Or just sell it back to Jackson so it can be displayed forever.

The neck pickup appears to have been swapped out - I don’t remember Seymour Duncan putting their name on their pickups until into the 90s.

I don’t know if anyone else had noticed that the point on the Jackson headstocks are glued joint. There are quite a few from early 90s with the plot snapped off lol. I have 2 old dinks with a dull point head lol

Randy looked right with the Flying V but not the Les Paul. Slash looks right with a Les Paul however.
