Hi, got a question. When you trim your strips, why do you leave a quarter inch or so only to cut it off? I know Log Cabin is supposed to be an easy block but it's always been a little confusing to me. Love, love your videos! Thank you!

It's just my quick way to ensure I don't cut it too short the first time.

Hi Suz, you will get a kick out of this. I have 24 lc blocks leftover ( I know you are thinking HOW can I have that man leftover) from several kits cut my Matt Jordan from 2012 birds fabrics. After buying several yards of extra collection fabrics. as well as a panel, I made a twin quilt and had these leftover. I sent them to a WIP bin and just a month or so ago pulled them out to see them on my wall. They didn't tell me what they wanted to become, so after staring at them they went away. Well, guess what I'm dragging out tonight. Yep I'm making your design. TY TY TY And my bin of birds thank you. It's a pleasure watching our brain work.

I love this one too! I'm going to share it with my mom. She's an avid quilter and 94 years old. She's never remarked about seeing a disappearing log cabin and she's made many log cabin blocks/quilts so I think she will be surprised and like it too. She may want to try it on her next quilt project.
