When you sew four 2.5 inch strips together, that block would be 8.5 inches because of the seam allowance on the two outside strips. I was wondering why you didn't cut the square at 8.5 instead of 8 inches.

Could this be done with jelly rolls with the added one inch strip in the center? Making the cutting size 5 inches? In my mind that would make it “grow” faster. Just my mind wandering. Thanks for all your great videos!

That's not a measurement I'm used to working with, however you can adapt most 2.5" strip patterns and use 3.5" strips instead. You'll just have a bigger finished project.

HELP!! I’m struggling with this pattern. I cut all the pieces as indicated and decided to match pieces up before sewing. I’ve tried three times now and it never comes out right. The last time I ended up with an extra pair of 4” squares but NO matching triangles. What am I doing wrong??!! For reference I am matching a set of 4” squares with two larger triangles. I don’t want to start sewing until I get this right!!
@revelationquilts
@revelationquilts 14 күн бұрын
Keep in mind that each set of 4" squares will make 2 HST's. It's difficult to advise without physically being with you to help. I watched my video again to remind myself how I put it together. Perhaps you could send me an email with pics? [email protected]

Very nice. I made a quilt similar to this but I kept them in a chain, started back at the beginning and then cut them all at once and ironed all at once. Seems a lot slower how you did it.
@revelationquilts
@revelationquilts 15 күн бұрын
Thanks for weighing in. You didn't iron the strip after the first round (before you sewed the second piece on)? It seems you would have to bend the 1" strip back to sew it on the second 1.5" x 3" anyway. I enjoyed the process of how I did it, but to each their own.
@poodlegirl55
@poodlegirl55 15 күн бұрын
@@revelationquilts Hard to explain but I actually turn the second stack over and sew from the last one up and have the bigger fabric on the top. Luckily we are not all exactly alike, that would be boring. Your second design was really fabulous, I'm going to remember that next time I sew scraps together.
