As per usual, your thorough frame-by-frame analysis of this trailer was illuminating and much appreciated. One thing I will add, though, is that re: the spiders and old woman scene, the markings on the forehead of the giant spider at the end looked to be the same as the ones on the old woman's forehead, and the spider was the same color of white as the woman's hair. I'm assuming, in keeping with mythological stories involving monsters or spirits masquerading as people (particularly common in eastern mythologies), that the older woman looking for a "groom" is the human form of the massive spider we see at the end of the scene, and she is shouting "Get out!" likely at the would-be groom who has either spurned her or broken the enchantment to see her true form, which is in keeping with the sort of shenanigans Sun Wukong would get up to. The old woman's younger "daughters" that can command smaller spiders are likely the old white spider's brood. Very much looking forward to seeing how this game plays in a few days! I'm hoping the combat flow feels like Stellar Blade or Sekiro. Cheers!

21:34 actually, the giant spider is the bride, aged spider mommy, cause in the earlier of the trailer, one of the spider daughter warned the groom "always turn your back to my mother when she has her meal, and never look at her eyes", it seems that the mommy spider loses her mind and devours anything she sees while eating. this also reflects the natural instinct that most female spiders eat male ones after mating ? Also, one of the daughters disagree that other sisters capture innocent victims to be mommy's grooms. she said these grooms are eventually eaten by mommy in order to increase mommy's power. the tiny spider crawling on the lady's hand is the youngest sister of the spider family, so she cannot transfrom to human form.( in chinese mythology, only high rank demon/monster can transform inot human form. the longer you can maintain in the human form, the stronger the monster is )

Yes, I read up on this after your comment. Are there 7 sisters? If so, is the 7th sister just missing? There are five young women and 1 normal size spider (6 sisters) and 1 mom. Or does the mom represent the 7th (there would just be 7 in total)?

@@unlistednaytiba good observation! in the original journey to the west, there were 7 spider sisters, but in this game, I am not sure how many spiders will there be. maybe the 7th spider sis isn't shown in the trailer, or the mommy is the 7th spider? we shall find it out tomorrow(media reviews release date) or 20 Aug

23:39 this is a referenc to ch 66 in journey to the west, where monkey king asked buddah Mastriel to defeat yellow brow monster(who was a servant of Maitreya Buddha, but ran away with buddha's magic weapons) so he can resued his master captured by the yellow brow monster. Maitreya Buddha asked monkey king to lure the yellow brow monster to his molon farm where Maitreya Buddha disguise as a melon farmer. when yellow brow monster arrived, monkey shapeshifted into a big green watermelon. yellow brow monster asked the farmer for a melon to ease his thirst. as they planned, the farm gave him the one that monkey transformed into. After yellow brow monster swallowed the "melon", monkey king started to attack him inside his body, and make him surrender. however, i wonder if Game Science will make a new story out of the original one.

I rarely buy digital games, but this is a must play for me, the 72 different shape shifts are what has me hype for this game again, I was starting to have doubts because of stamina bar and I too thought it was a boss rush game with very little story

Just because this game does not have parrying doesn't mean its bad. It just means there is room to expand. Maybe a transformation will have the parry ability, its as easy as that.

there kinda is a parrying system with the stone skin ability and i personally really like the dodging system because it seems thought out and not just a roll like in elden ring

Yeah I was kinda confused about that. According to Journey to the West, they are the spider sisters, but why do the two girls kinda flinch when the dark shadowed woman extends her hand outward holding the spider? Kinda weird, since if they were all spiders, she wouldn't use the spider on her hand to threaten other spider woman.

the bosses fights are not as hard as the soulslike games. and it's linear, not open world. this story is set after the journey of the west. some bosses have 2nd phase, if you defeat them fast enough in 1st phase(the time frame is unknown yet) there are 2 ways you can gain transformation/shapeshifting to defeated monsters(not all monsters), 1. obtain the weapon of the monster 2. capture defeated monsters with the gourd. method 1 you shapshift into the monster within a limited time frame, you change back to monkey after the timer expires or hp bar goes down to 0, basically gives you an extra HP bar. method 2 let you combine the monster's attack into your monkey attack combo seamlessly. the last but not the least, plz bear in mind that this game is made by a 140ish employees studio, it might not be as polished as other games made by other bigger studios. Plz tune your expectation down, and enjoy!!!

It’s kinda funny, in china they don’t use twitter, it’s like a Chinese version of twitter, well some influencer (not a game science worker) just some random guy made up this whole story, then someone copy and paste that to the real twitter then that got viral, and it’s wild because there’s no proof of sweet baby trying to get with game science or anything, that one guy made that thing up and everyone believed him. the only real thing is ign making lies about game science. My theory is that ign is just trying to get drama just for the sake of views and clicks, but yea I wish we all get along

I used to have a rig but now I play everything on PS5. They ryzen 9 7900 sounds good. Your graphics card is comparable to an RTX 4070, which is a beast of a graphics card, so I think you're good (I'm more familiar with NVIDIA's line of graphics cards so that's why I did the comparison).

I'm gonna be honest, I'm looking forward to the game but waiting for user reviews anyway. Also, i ran the benchmark on a 4070 with everything maxed out and i got around 58 frames, but i can say with confidence that this game still doesn't look as good as even god of war 2018. Not saying that to be rude, but as good as the game looks overall, it is still definitely lacking in a few areas visually. Maybe it's an unreal engine 5 thing, but the water looks terrible and the AA was not working at all from what i saw

Yeah I get your comment. Unique in the whole overall concept of it. Take the bosses look (transformation), their mask, their weapon. That in itself is unique. There was a clip I showed from the one clip with the small cherry blossom branch inside the small sized wooden structure. There was a lot of exploration shown from the summer games fest clips too... just didn't show it in the video - but there seems to be plenty from the clips out there.

So many have already spent 60 plus dollars on Black Myth because it looks like a good game but the Devs wont make a phys8cal copy because of their GREED... if the gamers dont stop paying for rental games the avaerage player will notnbe able to afford gaming what so ever... once physical is gone the prices can be anything the Corps decide... I used to rent video games for $5 dollars per game NOT $60...
