I got this kit because I was hoping it had the motorcycle fenders. I was happy when I saw it did. Then the more I dug into the kit the more I liked it. This will be a fun kit to build, and a great addition to my roadster collection.

Thank you very much. I was planning on doing that green on the Dart, but it is way too bright for that one, so I'll use that for this Roadster, and will be getting some gold for the Dart.

All of these Revell roadster kits are really good kits. I haven't had a problem with any of them, and I've done four different ones so far. This will be my fifth. I think they are my favorite series to build.

Another killer looking kit. Revell has the hot rod kits absolutely mastered. Another great bunch of build options. Now you just need a couple 34 V8s and maybe a model T hot rod and you’ll have the ford hot rod scene absolutely covered. I’m really loving the cycle fenders and the split glass on this. Too cool. Thanks for sharing again.

Very cool. I do like those roadsters. One suggestion, when you do the seatbelts, d a double thickness at the buckle, and run around it with the Molotow pen. Two thumbs up!

Thank you very much for the great suggestion. I will be doing exactly that. I was planning on doubling up the female end and the male end I was going to drill out the buckle latch part. I think that will look good.

Back in the early 60’s I bought AMT 3 in1 kits almost always, rarely bought a Revell. Simply because Revell only offered one option and AMT offered stock, custom or competition options in one kit. Back then the AMT kits were about a $1.50 each and had good variety and very good quality. The AMT 32 Roadster and Coupe came with full fenders or motorcycle fenders for highboy versions, they don’t any longer. I’m pretty sure the other 32 models, Sedan and Phaeton, and the Model A’s, also came with extra fenders. While I’m at it, the 40 Ford Coupe and Sedan came with both 39 and 40 grills, headlights and taillights so you could build either year or mix and match. The new 40 Coupe does not. The last kits I bought in my first model car life were the 62 Impala SS Hardtop, and the 63 1/2 Ford Galaxy and Mercury Marauder. I was sixteen and started working on real cars and chasing real girls shortly after that. Can’t work on real cars anymore, so I’m back to scale model cars. The tools, paints and knowledge available is much improved. The new AMT kits have not improved and are pretty low quality and the fit and finish pretty much sucks.

I started building in the late 60's and I think some of the kits AMT and Revell still use the same molds. The little extras that would come in the kits are about gone too. I remember getting the Mod Squad's van and it came with a dirt bike or something like that. Now I'm happy when the kit comes straight. LOL But like I tell everyone, the newer AMT kits are nice to work with. I've done a few over the past year, and other than the Pinto kit I ended up chucking that one. It was just bad. The rest of them built up into good kits. One thing for sure, the glue and paint we have now is soooooo much better than the old days. Plus with the internet there is so much information out there that you can come up with a good idea of how things should look before you mess them up. LOL

I just watched this video again, paused partway through to order this kit for the same reason you did. The fenders! In my first go around in the early sixties, AMT 3in1 kits were King. I had most of the early Fords. Everyone you could build as a highboy came with fenders. Now none of them do. I have the Revell 32 Coupe, it has a lot of nice parts including full fenders, but no highboy fenders. My intention was to build Milner’s Yellow Coupe from American Graffiti, not happening with any 32 Coupes available. Good unboxing!

One of these days I'm going to order enough kits so I can bash together Milner's Coupe. The way all these Revell kits are it would be easy to swap parts from one kit to another to make it right. I just have to figure out which kit's to get. Good thing about that is you would still be able to make two other cool roadsters out of the other kits as well.

Mark, Thanks for the unboxing. This appears to be a generic repop of the "Stacey David" '32 roadster. Hence the guitar. Nonetheless, it is a stellar kit & builds up beautifully. I am interested in seeing how you build this one up. Take care, Rick

Great kit review! I guess from all the other reviews Ive seen you can only build it with the Duvall windshield. Their are some great detailed parts in that kit. Thanks for sharing.

It only comes with the glass for the Duvall, but it does come with the frame for the flat window, so if you wanted to cut some blister pack you can easily make a flat window.

Yes it's a Duval! Look at the license plate on decal sheet. Also the guitar is from a real hot rod built by Stacy David on a show called gears with Stacy David and ends with an interview with a rep from Revell models!

Awesome kit GP! For me I would use the cherry bomb exhaust, but that is me. Both will be cool. I had Thrush lake sides in my 66 Ford Fairlane and after burning my legs 4 times they went to the front yard with a "For Sale" on them... Lol Maybe the 390 HighPo was to much for them. I've used the Cherry Bombs on the other three, so I think I will use the straight pipes (Calf Burners) I love the other headers though, so it's going to be a tough decision, but I do have an AMT pickup roadster that I may try and fit them on. LOL But that will be way after Christmas.

Quick Shine will dull the Molotow pen just a little bit, but honestly I think it takes the shine down to where it should be.

On the most part Revell kits are very well designed. The AMT kits are hit and miss sometimes. I've had some really great ones and some that are just bad. The newer ones are very good.
