Seen your early review of the previous initial release of the Tornado IDS version. Your comments about the kit seemed to be that the molding was a little on the soft side in places and there were a number of sink marks in places ie on the main landing gear legs. As my father is retired RAF, i grew up around the Tornado so I eagerly awaited the release of the GR4 kit. I recently purchased the new release and my thoughts are that Revell have cleaned up or re engineered the molds for this new release. First thing I noticed is that the colour and hardness of the plastic is different, possibly slightly harder which would have allowed for the panel lines and other details to be much sharper and cleaner. The issue with the sink marks in the landing gear appear to have also been addressed as my kit doesn't have any sink marks. The instruction sheet has to be one the highlights of the kit in the new colour glossy format. The Tornado is always going to be a complicated kit therefore it's always going to make any instruction sheet look busy and possibly daunting upon first viewing but Revell seem to have done a good job to lay it out in a methodical way. I understand that the kit retails for around the 25 pound mark in the UK. I live in New Zealand and picked it up for NZD$90 which is probably not bad when you factor in shipping costs etc and was the cheapest I could find in NZ. Most other places retailed it at well over the $100 mark. Finally we have a good rendition of the Tornado GR4 on the marked which addresses many of the grumbles from previous releases.
