Your pre-reverb EQ curve is in line with the “Abbey Road reverb trick”: low-cut at around 600Hz and a hi-cut at around 10kHz, both cuts should be as steep as possible (24dB per octave should work and are found in most EQs).

Keep in mind that I have only used Fabfilter for about a month and was not entirely familiar with the setup. Thank you to the one for the constructive correction.

Yes, but as I have concluded by own experience, the RT60 is not so audible, meaning that a reverb will always more or less have a “stageless” ending, thus decay time in 1/4 notes or subdivisions make very little sense. A ping pong delay on the other hand, has a very clear ending and there sync will be audible to the fullest.

What plugin do you recommend for reverb in brass?

thank you for the tutorial but the audio example really bothered me I wonder why people don’t take time to carefully choose something pleasant to listen to, since it is repeated several times during the tutorial..

Can I use the time trick to set attack and release of a compressor too? I'm just curious cuz it can save alot of time.
@NoahOD_223 жыл бұрын
You probably shouldn’t most of the time, unless for whatever reason you actually want the compressor to compress to the tempo of the song (which you might want in certain instances). Usually though, you’re using a compressor to bring out/control the transient and the sustain, so you’re gonna wanna be setting the times specifically to the source material.
@shach72 жыл бұрын
Yes, many mix engineers set the release time based on 'musical timings' (less so with the attack)
