Reverberation THUNDER TEMPEST CLERIC Build: Baldur's Gate 3

This was my first build I used to complete the game with. It was more melee focused with a high STR. I made sure to get the Potion of Everlasting Vigour at Moonrise Tower to take STR up to 18. I also took a level of wizard and used the Warped Headband of Intellect to put my INT to 17 so I could use lightning bolt and chain lightning. I used those in conjunction with my Channel Divinity: Destructive Wrath to deal max damage with those spells.

Channel divinity with chain lightning is busted strong. With create water hitting for 160 is crazy! It’s a really fun build stacking reverberation

I set up Shadowheart as a Radiant version of this with the Luminous armor and Phalar Aluve in nearly all my playthroughs. Unbelievably powerful once she's got Spirit Guardians going.

I've been running a similar Tempest Cleric build with Shadowheart specced for dex attacks, using the Phalar Aluve, the reverb gloves, and Spirit Guardians. Repelling enemies and knocking them prone when they try to get close on their next turn is hilarious. Unfortunately, I missed out on the reverb boots in my current HM game because the hobgoblin teleported away after I accidentally made him hostile before he introduced me to Omeluum.

you can use the glaive you can buy at moontower to add any elemental damage type to a weapon. so always get that and add thunder to anything you want

I’ve been working on a concept around a great weapon fighter mixed with white cold draconic sorcerer. The concept is that I get items that do the encrusted with frost thing. So when I freeze enemies with spells for crowd control I will switch to melee. Still working on the details but I’m excited

The Adamantine shield causes Reeling so it frees up the armour slot for the radiant orb medium armour from the underdark

Cacophony is a good thunder weapon that you can get earlier. Quarterstaff can be used with polearm master.

I like making Shadowheart Tempest instead of Life because of the flavor. Plus Life Cleric isn’t really necessary, it’s just helpful in certain situations. But the wrath of the storm is worth it imo. Nice video man!

Tempest is the best!! It can still heal but all the lightning and thunder damage is crazy. Spirit guardians lets you set up 4 stacks of reverberation which is crazy

It’s from the gear that I show near the end, there’s a ton and it’s easy to set up! Spirit guardians applies 4 stacks of it and when they hit 5 they can be knocked prone. It keeps your team safe!

Would you consider using the sacred star as a weapon for the mainhand as well if youre going more melee oriented? Itd apply 1 radiating orb and 1d4 radiant damage on hit allowing for two reverberation triggers on an attack. (Ps dragonbord with lightning breath attack also fun with a tempest cleric). Edit: After level 8 you also do 1d8 Thunder damage once per turn on an attack adding thunder damage to the hit too. Worth also adding that the Adamantine Shield could also be worth considering since on an enemies missed attack the shield applies Reeling to melee attackers.

The sacred star works great here! If you do the exploit to get the deva mace it is very powerful as well. The 1d8 thunder damage is awesome, but you can also add in paladin smites x2 for even further fun

Interesting thought! Pair that with spirit guardians as a concentration spell and you've got a lot of burst per round with several triggers! I'm guessing you'd want to roll with a bit more strength with that combo then? And the 6th level spell slots are worth sacrificing in your opinion for those Juicy smites?

definitely use warcaster to make sure you can keep concentrating. using call lightning is basically a free aoe spell each round. def start with sorc, conc saves. no need to add find familiar, Shovel is free ;-)

The amulet of greater health also adds advantage on constitution saves so it’s good to go either way since the tempest already has a reaction! But true points

Im trying to make a similiar build but as a ranger and with the baneful as a weapon which inflicts bane as a condition. Then as second weapon deep dolver for another condition on hit and I also chose 1 lvl warlock "the great old one", to get fear as a condition on critical strikes. Its not optimal yet but the dmg on the stacks of reverberation (lol) triggering multiple times per hit is mad. Also that enemies get much weaker in everything they do (bane and because other gear that causes mental fatique and also the one from the Illithid Powers draining their stats (triggers reverb too btw)). So they become useless after they get hit which is just funny lol. But I dont know how to make it more optimale yet like your build.

That’s an interesting build to apply lots of debuffs! Works pretty well since you drop their ability scores so low they won’t be able to resist anything, and the lower dexterity will hurt their armor class. Smart plan! Let me know how it goes

Hero's feast makes you immune to fear. Really good against Orin and a few other fights. I really like this build and equipment set up. Only thing that bothered me is you keep on forgetting the 'er' in reverberation. Reverbation. XD. All good the build is great, that word just scratches my brain wrong.

Totally! You can actually get a level 11 Druid/cleric at camp to cast this on 3/4 of your party and then leave them at camp for a free buff! So you can use the level 6 spell slot for something else (planar ally so good)

@@JasonDunna Yeah, that's true but also a bit cheesy lol. I prefer to use the spellcrux amulet to get the 6th level slot back directly after. Not saying it's wrong to do that, but it's just not me.

Evasive shoes for +1 AC, helldusk or boots of persistence. The speedy light feet are good if you want lightning charges
