I am playing a VERY CLOSE version of this. I am playing a gnome to sure up the saves (I have adv on every save except Con while raging) and I wanted to point out if the DC on your Con save gets too high you can also do the spend rage to heal with your capstone feature from Zealot. People are missing that it applies to you too.

Celestial warlock can get there too. Since gift of the ever-living ones automatically maximizes all healing. Whenever we cast cure wounds on ourselves we heal 85 hp × (4 spellslots + 2 spellslots from feature) = 510, a short rest gives us back, number of hitdice × 8 + CON + 4 spellslots equaling another 340 + the hitdice healing, which is a 260 added together = 600 + tough is another 40 + dwarf 20 + boon of fortitude 40 =700 + the 510. Now I haven't counted how much hp I would get as a warlock, but going by his rules, we could give up 4 warlock lvls for 4 zealot lvls that should more than make up for it with. We lose 1 spellslot 85 hp × 2 +1 = 255 + (3 × 5,5+5=10 total of) 33 + (4×1d6 from healing light) 24 = 312. 1210 - 312 = 898. So we lose a significant amount of healing, what do we gain from 4 lvls of zealot? 4d12 + CON + 4d12 from zealot self heal = 116 hp added to 898 = 1014 × 2 from rage for a total of 2028 effective hp to play with. I think that's not too bad for a warlock invocation! 😮😂😂😂😊😊😅 Edit: and we can still be on theme for the reverent!

Nick works really well with Brutal strike because you give up much less potential damage with the loss of advantage on a weak attack to gain a very nice upside. It's like splitting a great weapon attack in two and only having to risk a small portion of it for the upsides.

Necromancer Wizard: That's impressive. Uses the same Tarrasque, True Polymorphed into a Humanoid + Magic jar for an easy 676 HP. Then with the help of a party to stack HP Maximum: Aid (40), Heroes' Feast (20), & Reincarnate (20 from Dwarf at least once), & Tough Feat (40) + Epic Boon: Boon of Fortitude (40) for a boost of 160 HP, a total of 836. Now there's no Resistance or major regen for double HP, but we are a full caster, & a Necromancer. You can use Nystul's Magic Aura on said Tarrasque to appear Undead for the ability, Command Undead. Awesome video btw!

@@xiongray well you see magic jar requires a humanoid, which the tarrasque is not. So you need it to be willing in order to use Nystul's on it, and you need Nystul's for magic jar, so it still has to be willing initially for this to work, so again, I don't really see that happening

If I were to optimize this build, I'd probably use it with an orc for relentless endurance and adrenaline rush. Also, I'd probably take a feat at 16th level, since you'll be getting a one point ability score increase from boon of resilience and there isn't any point to having an ability score of 25. Right now, I'm thinking of something that interacts well with adrenaline rush, something that makes you much harder to get away from, or something that improves your attacks with whatever weapon you choose.
@rodneyrossow2 ай бұрын
An alternative to starting as a dwarf would be to choose Goliath and choose the Stone Giant ancestry. I think the 1d12 + CON bonus PB times per day would make up for the slightly lower hit points you would have by giving up Dwarven Toughness. At low levels you can save yourself from taking an average of 19 points (assuming a 16 CON), which is the number of hit points you would gain at 19th level from the Dwarven Toughness ability.
@hunterhackert52502 ай бұрын
If you also wanted to use a feat from a 5e expansion you could remarkable recovery from Tal’Dorei. It lets you add your con mod from any healing source that is either a healing potion spell or class features. So with the epic boon you could add your con mod twice per heal. Not insane but more healing is fun
@fletcherclausen434914 күн бұрын
I know you where only using the PHB but if you combine this with 2 levels of warlock for Gift of the Ever-Living Ones you use the maximum value of any dice used to regain hit points, which takes this build to even more ridiculous levels.

I made a build in dnd that absolutely abused wither and bloom to the point where I would be able to heal 28/29 hp as a bonus action each round. Plus resistances equates to roughly 60 hp per round

Super tanky, I haven't gotten the book yet, but I'm looking forward to a grappling shadow monk from the 2024 PHB. I heard the grappler feat is better, and Monk works well with grappling. Dragging a mage into the silence spell can shut them down pretty hard. I also thought skulker got a pretty cool upgrade if I remember right, so that might be fun on a different build.
@WizardVolovik2 ай бұрын
You can see the new 2024 rules in 5etools, printed straight from the D&D Beyond. But I'll warn you that Silence spell is gone to shadow monk.
@collinw97922 ай бұрын
Can't cast silence anymore as a shadow monk, but now you can see through the darkness you create, so dragging them into darkness you can see through but they can't might be even more valuable, keeps them from targeting with spells

goliath gives you stone's endurance, which effecitively gives you 1d12+con hp times your proficiency bonus If you know you will reach level 20 (or will start a level 20 one-shot), then this build is perfect and does not need anything else however, if you wont go past level 11, you could take 3 levels into celestial warlock, take pact of the chain, gift of the ever living ones (which maxes any healing you get from dice), fiendish vigor (false life was buffed to 2d4+4), cure wounds (which was buffed to 2d8), and healing light (4d6) since you get magical cunning, that means you have three level 2 cure wounds, each give you 4d8 each (12d8 total) so you would have 131 hp, 8d12 barbarian hit die, 5d12 zealot healing, 3d8 warlock hit die, 12d8 cure wounds healing, 4d6 from healing light, and 12 from fiendish vigor, for a maximized total of 443 hit points, so an effective 886 hp with raging and if you add goliath's damage reduction, you get 38 total (im not sure if i should count it with the total hp, or if raging affects it)
@DnD_Daily2 ай бұрын
Nice thoughts! To answer your last point you reduce then halve. Works the same way with the heavy armor master feat. Kinda a bummer because you could get some crazy damage reduction otherwise but it makes sense cause that would be a bit OP. The result is that damage reduction is strangely actually less valuable on a barbarian than any other class.
