They do do custom shiny sprites now (instead of the coding), they’ve done that since Gen 5 or 6. And this Farfetch’d is technically a new pokemon due to it being a new form; so yes, this shiny could have been better

xxTWARxx I literally got two shiny pancham legit full odds within 30 encounters after 5000 random encounters only hunting sizzlipede .. I’m LITCHERALLY 100 hours in and 18-19k random encounters and haven’t encountered a single shiny since and sizzlipede shiny is literally saying fk me.. To evolve galarian farfetched, I went against a metapod in the wild area because all they use is Harden. Since I did this after beating the game, it was considerably easy to get my crits without using any items but the Leek.

First off these aren't ultra shiny. The odds for this are much higher than you think. He had the charm and farfetch'd was at max odds of ~1/512.4 He also encountered those within 5 encounters and that makes it a bit more likely than a back to back. For the odds: the formula is =((65521/65536(1-(4095/4096)^3))*(65521/65536(1-(4095/4096)^8))*((4095/4096)^9))/10 The end result is ~1/7,016,798 About 1 in 7 millions. This is still more common than finding a star shiny in the wild, which is roughly 1 in 17.8 millions.

Overworld encounters are generated before you encounter them so if anything, you accidentally hitting the exact right stufful without running too far away making it despawn is super lucky since the thing was gonna be shiny regardless.

This is a little late, but one time I was just in the wild area just walking around when I found a shiny yamper and gave it to my brother when it evolved. When I first started the encounter I didn’t notice it was shiny. After turning the switch off my brain said “wait, was that me or was that shiny?” I turned the switch back on to check and it turned out to be shiny!
