This song is actually about the black death, a plague from medieval England/Europe. ring-a ring-a rosies: a common symptom of the plague were pus-filled hives that had the hue of roses a pocket full of posies: people thought bad smells were the cause for diseases so carrying flowers were thought to ward off the plague a-tishoo, a-tishoo!: sneezing was a major symptom, and the reason why we say bless you when someone sneezes today, because people would hear someone sneeze and pray for them. we all fall down: self-explanatory.

Please stop spreading nonsense, there is absolutely no evidence that proves that it’s about any plague. It’s just a dumb theory. It doesn’t even make any sense that only this specific version of the song is about the plague and not the many other ones, and I doubt that if the song actually did exist at the same time of the plague that it sounds very much like the modern version.

Fun fact... The nursery rhyme was based on and actually roses but not as rainbows and sunshines but.... A plague... It killed a lot a people in yhe past in some county, i can't remember which or what the plague was called but they used roses to remove the bad smell
