The title says it all. I've left Korea - celebration AND tears, see my blog post for more info- and now that I'm home.. WOW AMERICA IS WEIRD! Here are 5 things that have me shocked, startled, annoyed and down right angry since I've moved home.
Forgive the janky sound. I tried to level it out and failed. The acoustics are SO different here so I'm working on getting a mic to normalize it.
Agree? Disagree? You mad and want to vent? ... leave a comment below!

"I'm like, Low Key interesting." that's the realest thing I've heard in a while. This is my first time watching any of your videos and instantly subscribed. Watched the whole video and went to read the blog post (lots of anxiety and silent tears). PREACH! I was in Germany for 2 years and was immediately disappointed when I got off the plane in my mother country. It's crazy that I come to youtube to find others with the same perspective because for a while I thought I was the only crazy one. And you can't talk to someone who has never been overseas because they just can't relate. The food, the fashion, the "friends" just everything. There was so much truth in your video that I had to watch it twice. Stay cool.

Thats amazing that you get to see America from an unbiased view and see all the weird habits they consider normal! I live in Québec and everyone speaks French here, but I live in an English town where it's not necessary to know French. The one thing here that's the same in Korea is you can buy alcohol ANYWHERE and anytime, just the opening and closing hours suck.

Not exactly the same, but I lived in Hawaii for a while and there weren't any billboards, so when I came back to the mainland all I could do was read each and every sign we passed 😂

I went home during the summer and I couldn't even finish Chipotle. I would fall asleep eating food. Oh and don't get me started on getting sick after eating everything in America. My body was rejecting everything. 😣😣😣

I know it's not quite the same (and I realize that this is an older video) but I experienced reverse culture shock returning to New York City after living in the Portland, OR, area and Houston for about 4 years. My biggest reaction was getting used the HOARDES of people walking the streets. Also, standing on line to get lunch took getting used to again. And finally, the cost of things were literally almost 80% more. I was paying $315 per month for a nice town home in Houston (back in 1994) and had to settle for a rinky-dinky one bedroom for $625 in the Bronx when I got back. Yikes!!!

I completely agree with the expensiveness of America! I have been back in the states for a considerable amount of time after living in China and I'm still not used to it! It's like you know you are getting ripped off to your face and there's nothing you can do about it :-(... Do you plan on going back overseas to a different country?

In Korea, if some processed food is known to have so long a shelf-life unless it's Ramyon or something like that, it will not sell. People post in Naver, Daum, etc. I wonder why that is not the case in America. Maybe America is big so nearby small open roof markets aren't available? In my neighborhood, we have modern big markets, and also traditional open roof market that opens every 5 days. So we can buy fresh food almost everyday.

#3 Korean have liquor stores open 24*7,whereas we Indians don't accept liquor as good thing and two states have ban liquor in our country. It will b a culture shock to koreans if they come here.

I definitely feel you on the food in America. I lived in Liberia for 2 years when I was 13 and everything was smaller from the fruits to the animals. The chickens in America are fucking mutants, so when I saw what an actual chicken was supposed to look like I thought there was something wrong with the chickens they had. That's mainly why I'm vegan and pretty much grow my own food in America. The food has to much unnecessary shit injected into it to make it bigger and last longer, but your not just eating the food your eating whatever they injected into it, which is why so many people go through puberty earlier or get these cancers younger. That being said are you gonna be staying in America for good? Or do you plan on eventually going to another country.

If you live in a state where the alcohol is controlled by the state (e.g. California and Virginia), you can buy liquor almost anywhere. Canada is the same way. Another thing, you can call people fat but (like all words) you have to be mindful of the context. For example, you can say "my best friend is fat" but don't say "my best friend is fat because she eats large, disgusting portions of food. Ew!" Also, people in NYC don't talk to strangers unless we want something or we like you lol. We too busy doing other shit like living our lives but I found the south and midwest to be completely opposite. I wonder how you would fair in Miami or SoCal. They don't have a lot of points on your list except being expensive lol.

Lived in Japan for almost 5 years and almost had a heart attack when I got back lol I feel like I got an STD from the public bathroom before I even enter lol Americans can be so dirty:-/ and LOUD... and Americans have to have a label for everything... it was nice just to be looked at as an American.. Oh and fast food in Japan are not supersized everything... a small is actually a small... and the burger looks like the picture... being an American and living in another country has really humbled me:-/

I went overseas for two weeks and experienced cultural shock upon returning to the States. I agree with you when you say Americans are large. I also thought our homes, vehicles, and roads were large. Further, our processed food is disgusting and you're correct it shouldn't have such a long shelf life.
