Very interesting, I'm taking NMN and it helps my muscle weakness and fatigue as well, the day I took NMN my resistance training obviously last longer and need less time to recover.

Every chart was convincing except the right hand side of the chart at 4:55 . For advanced stage liver fat, the overall mean (4 months to 10 months) appeared to go UP(getting worse) slightly, wile some cases experienced a drop. I welcome clarification on this one point. Otherwise, the benefit is well-presented. Thanks.

You really need to take TMG with NMN to get full effect. All my labs were much better when I started using both consistently for 5 months. My labs were done 7 months apart, starting before I was using both supplements. I can really tell a big difference in my weight lifting power without fatigue since using them, along with labs (blood lipids, kidney and liver functions) all of which were much better. My doctor as surprised, but I wasn't.

You mention that all labs were much better, but which in particular do you think were due to TMG/NMN? Thank you.

TMG compensates for the - in many cases - massive loss of the body‘s ability of methylation when taking Niacin or any of its derivatives like NMN or Nicotinamid Riboside, and there is NO way to upscale methylation in an extremely effective, cheap and healthy way than taking TMG. And methylation in itself is supporting mitochondia and mitochondrial function

I feel it's best to use the full name in a comment before using anagrams. Nwim? 👍

Hi pkstiever, Which foods contain TMG? I prefer to get it from natural sources. I have read that TMG is also produced by the body. I take Nicotinic Acid as part of the Biogency Synext tablets (NAD booster?), which has been approved by the TGA (the Australian equivalent of the FDA), to help combat the aging process.
@musaire4 күн бұрын
@@Franky2A3 TMG is known as betaine - so this is a molecule first named after the beet root - literally you need around 200grams of beetroot per day to get a healthy amount of betaine (TMG) - that's doable, as you can also add sources of DMG (dimethylglycine - di- or tri- methyl - its just different amount of methyl groups attached, legumes and greens have bits of DMG) into the caserole containing beetroots. I always say that niacin fits the best with healthy whole plant based food as there is mehtyl groups, folate, antioxidants and polyphenols (protects against NAD+ use for inflammatory processes) that take care of the excess niacinamide and NAD+ (can create excessive oxidation). Also, you'd want betaine (TMG) in the mix in phytonutrients as many of the polyphenols inhibit the enzymes in the gut bacteria that would otherwise turn TMG into TMA and which could end up as TMAO and promote aterosclerosis in blood vessels. So, yes, indeed, natural sources should be the go-to in most part - in worst case, when using refined TMG, the rest of the diet should be polyphenol-rich and plant-heavy. (Actually animal meats contain quite a lot of niacinamide but its not something that is turned to NAD+ unless the NAMPT enzyme is active (which requires phytochemicals or fasting or sports) - sweating some niacinamide out also healps). Almost forgot - you need plants also for magnesium. As NAMPT requires it.

I had a muscle biopsy that showed mytochondriopathy. They found lipids in the muscle fibers in black Suddan and it was positive for Cox 3. What could be the defect? Which transporter, complex 3 or 4? Does anyone know how I can get around this? I'm experiencing very bad symptoms and I don't know what to do.

Have you tried using the salvage pathway to oxidize NADH back to NAD+? Additionally ECGC reduces the effect of NNMT consuming methyl . The salvage pathway consists of stimulating production of NAMPT, methylation, and reducing the effect of CD38.
@andywilson86984 күн бұрын
Apigenin also helps!!! I run flush form niacin, methyl b12, methlyfolate, chamomile(apigenin) , and just started egcg. I have way more energy!!!
@markfischer36264 күн бұрын
@andywilson8698 Apigenin comes from chamomile flowers and reduces the effect of CD38. Parsley flakes works too. Add TMG for methylation and qurecetin or R alphalipoic acid or both to stimulate production of NAMPT and you have the entire salvage pathway. ECGC is extracted from green tea.

I have consumed large doses of NMN on a regular basis for 3 weeks. Nothing changed except for my negative bank account balance. NMN= worthless. My belief is people are having a placebo effect using NMN. M&M's might work better, lol
@monnoo82214 күн бұрын
if you are healthy n every level down to the mitochondria, you ned not supplement with B3. it will have no effect. The saying goes "without measurement there is no management", but you trie to manage sth which did not need to. Additionally, NAD boosters like NMN can be overdosed and have negative effects
@fidelogos70984 күн бұрын
I took NMN for years. I don't think 3 weeks is enough time for your body to respond. I stopped because it's no longer available in the States without a prescription, replacing it with Nicotinamide Riboside. I've been taking NR for about a year now. It's much cheaper than NMN was when it was available. At my twice-annual blood work, all my numbers look like a much younger person's (I'm 77). I don't take any prescription medication. Maybe it's placebo effect, but I'll take it.

I don't know what any of the comments in here that express information are saying because I don't know what the anagrams stand for even though I have spent between 100 and 1000 hours learning about mitochondria. I would say it is likely I know more about the mitochondria than those using these anagrams for less common things that I don't off the top of my head know what they represent. I believe the mitochondria may be the single most important structure in the Universe and have my reasons but I don't believe there is much chance of having a meaningful discussion with folks who assume that everyone knows what the anagrams they use in lengthy comment represent. I feel the use of anagrams most often reflects the desire of the user to feel exclusive which indicates that a conversation with such a person will likely continuously reflect this attitude which is a void which can never be filled because no one is exclusive especially when it comes to mitochondria which is the fundamental basis for the kind in mankind. Our mitochondria are more the mother of every single individual and the entirety of mankind than the carrier of this mother often called mom. It's solely the mitochondria that allows for the expression of the will written in our DNA which inform our choices based on our history. We don't have to follow this information which is often not helpful as it has a tendency to inform us to keep things the way they are and defend our past actions often without much consideration as we can easily find examples when we look for them. Full disclosure, I went back and added "for less common things" when I decided to refer to DNA. Also I think it's important to notice that I didn't use any exclamation marks in my criticism about the overuse of anagrams as I understand that these kinds of things are just the inevitable effect of individual histories that bring a feeling of compulsion to act in particular patterns. We almost always follow the information that informs our emotions because it is almost always necessarily presented as though a well considered conclusion based on our knowledge. If we reflect on the reason for our impulses even in this very moment I feel we will likely see that the viewpoint of our character who feels these impulses also feels like "they" know best in an "I got this" kind of way. It may be informative to know that I recently found out that I may be autistic and so, among other things, can't understand why people don't get what I'm saying or find what I say odd for various reasons. Can you feel your impulses shift? That's the feeling of something being written in your DNA. ❤️

Those are acronyms, not anagrams. If you really have 1100 hours of study about mitochondria under your belt, I'm kinda surprised you haven't heard of these compounds.

anagram is a Greek-derived word, as the word acronym is Greek but means different things. Anagram is the creation of a word by rearranging the letters in a phrase or another word. For instance the word below is an anagram of the word "elbow "study is an anagram of the word dusty. The night is an anagram of the word thing. Totally agree with your conclusions regarding mitochondria another word of Greek origin as well come from mitosis the process by which a cell replicates its chromosomes and then segregates them, producing two identical nuclei in preparation for cell division and "chondros" the transparent, white, elastic, smooth, shiny, and moist tissue that covers the bones that come into contact at a joint. I underscore your phrase "t's solely the mitochondria that allow for the expression of the will written in our DNA which inform our choices based on our history" Awesome statement!

can you please write a shorter version of your message, can't read that wall of text. Anyway. TMG is trimethylglycine - which is betaine found in beetroots. ANyway, you'd ideally want lots of plant heavy food to go with any type of niacin as magnesium, folate, antioxidants and polyphenols help with controlling where the NAD+ is spent and recycling niacinamide back into NAD+ (thus not using up methyl groups on the way out of body - but beetroots for TMG and legumes and greens for DMG (dimethyglycine) always useful as the backup), phytochemicals (but also fasting and sports) activate the NAMPT enzyme (converting niacinamide back to NAD+). Refined TMG, wihout polyphenols, or in the mix of lots of meat and dairy products and eggs may end up as TMA and TMAO detsroying the blood vessels, promoting atherosclerosis. Plant chemicals inhibit the enzymes in gut bacteria that convert it to TMA (later liver enzymes could turn it to TMAO), these even control for the right type of gut bacterial strains and species to aid with NAD+ conversions and all health.
@incognitotorpedo424 күн бұрын
This case probably isn't applicable to normal humans. The patient has a weird mitochondrial mutation.
@musaire4 күн бұрын
it definitely raises NAD+ also in healthy older people. But I'd suggest upto 250mg of nicotinic acid per day only. She talks about nicotinic acid most of the time here I see ( a form of niacin). It has to be paired with good healthy diet though. RIch in all sorts of plants. As you need magnesium, antioxidants and polyphenols to keep the niacinamide recycling going.
