It's supposed to represent a kind of twisted justice, where clover commits literal genocide on every monster they encounter, in order to give the 5 souls "justice" and solace. This is why it's reversed and slowed down beyond recognition

Not really every monster they encounter, but every monster that attacked Clover or could've attacked them. NPCs you never get to fight are, obviously, never killed And this makes sense, because it wouldn't be just for Clover to kill someone who wouldn't do anything bad to humans, and sure, chances are none of the monsters Clover kills, besides Asgore, have ever hurt a human in their lives, but they're attacking Clover, so that means that they could attack a future human who falls to the Underground, therefore, in Clover's eyes, they're a menace to humanity and must be eradicated.

@@JoziGlitzh You walk around every room for minutes, finding every last monster you can kill. Clover also attacks Martlet who had no intention of hurting them. Trying to justify the genocide route kinda goes against the entire concept. It's the twisted side of justice, vengeance. It's still justice, but it's twisted.

@@Thorumsu Yes, but all those enemies you find to kill try to fight you, you're absolutely searching for them, but you're not searching for any random citizen, only those who fight you, else, Clover would've killed all the NPCs too. And Martlet is a Royal Guard, sure, she didn't want to kill you, but she should've because it's her job, so Clover considered her a menace. Also, when did I say I was trying to justify the genocide route? What I was trying to do with my message was to make it clearer that it is indeed still justice, it's obviously twisted, but Clover isn't just killing absolutely everybody for literally no reason, which does not mean I'm saying Clover had a GOOD reason to kill everyone they killed, but they did have a reason. Basically, the reason I comented is that OP said that "Clover killed everybody to avenge the previous humans" and I personally believe there's more to it than just that, the way I see it is "Clover killed everybody they considered a threat to humanity in order to avenge the previous humans and to attempt to prevent more humans from dying in the Underground in the future", although maybe that'd make the genocide route less vengeful?? If that's what you meant by trying to justify the genocide route, then fair enough, replace my view on the genocide route with just "Clover killed everybody they considered a threat to humanity in order to avenge the previous humans"

@@JoziGlitzh exactly, and this doesnt make anything easier for clover's amorality / twisted morality in the geno route. It is implied that magic does not hurt other monsters when having no intention of harm, they create "bullet-box birthday cards" and express themselves with BATTLE mode. Humans however, are weak to magic and any and all kind of magic could be harmful to their souls. Monsters, trapped underground knows absolutely nothing about humans and humanity. Alphys, someone who's definetely have the most knowledge about humans in monsterkind literally thinks anime is a real thing.

@@JoziGlitzhi mean, maybe clover could've killed every monster that attacked them but like above mentioned that the monsters arent intentionally attacking you at first (they wpuld start to later on to try and stop you of course) and sometimes clovers the one to take the first shot and go too far as you go through geno (especially with the robots), honestly the fact that clover killed more than 5 monsters even though 5 humans had died underground makes me think that clover was either trying to get justice for humans by attempting to eradicate as many monsters as they could so they could never wage war again if they ever escaped (or absorb a human soul), or they were trying to get the 5 human soul equivalent of monsters, which is basically just kind of the same thing considering asriel in true pacifist lol, i mean you could see it in a lot of ways tbh but i like thinking about martlets like of how "we only took 5 but you took hundreds" or something, so there was clearly more than just "ok you killed 5 so i'll kill 5", and geno here isnt the same meta stuff as ut geno so its its own thing in uty

@@Forgo_Fantaswhen they reached LV 19 by killing axis, all that could be used for clover to feel empaty or anything at that moment was consumed by hatred and rage towards monsters, and axis died to their hands, and they stopped feeling something good, nor bad, the only thing they will feel from now on is just gonna be the justice to do what's right, but after they sent the other 5 to their own homes, it was too late because the LV gotten from all that killing, at that point of reaching LV 19 they became souless

In the aftermath of the vengeance ending Toriel would try to take over and be overthrown by Undyne, establishing a totalitarian regime. She’d likely promote one of the dogs to head of the Royal Guard and Martlet would likely be revered as a hero and used for a lot of propaganda. With a sizable chunk of the Underground dead, Undyne would need to figure out how to get the economy back on track and also how to be a good leader. She’d likely recruit Alphys as some sort of Royal advisor or something which… I don’t see going well. Alphys would fold like a wet noodle any time Undyne would push back on any of her suggestions. By the time Frisk falls, the Underground will likely be struggling economically but still be very vehemently anti human. It won’t be quite as bad as Horrortale since Clover never decimated areas like CORE or Hotland. Undyne might find out about the Amalgamates which would lead to a very interesting confrontation. Mettaton’s TV shows would likely be at least partially rebranded into propaganda. Papyrus might finally be allowed to join the Royal Guard since Undyne would have likely gone at least a little off the deep end (and the Royal Guard needs more power. With Martlet dead and Undyne as Queen, the strongest known members of the guard are RG01 and RG02). Undyne would need his strength. Sans likely remains apathetic But maybe joins the Royal guard or remains a Century to just to protect his brother. Frisk should still be able to Save and Load but they’ll almost certainly have to kill a lot of monsters their first go around. Toriel would be very clingy and even harder to get past than normal, and the monsters would all try very hard to kill Frisk. Hell, maybe Frisk would just stay with Toriel. Then Frisk falls and Toriel is desperate to keep them with her to prevent both her being ridiculed more and another possible mass murderer to get out there but mainly to keep them safe from the revenge hungry Undyne who wants just one soul for now to go to the surface and kill Clover as revenge Assuming they push forward, Snowdin would likely be harder than normal with more aggressive monsters. Waterfall might actually be easier because even though monsters would be more aggressive, Undyne would be in the castle. Of course there’s also the possibility of Undyne just leaving the castle and hunting you down as soon as she learns about you. I'd imagine that sans wouldn't make his promise, and papyrus might end up as part of the royal guard (Due to both undyne and Martlets positions being open). Undyne might not have time to get to know papyrus as well due to being queen? I'd imagine some of Chujin's ideas would be checked out too, so new models of axis(or Axis inspired drones) and maybe some investigation into the boss monster serum? The feisty four are alive, and might play a role in the story, potentially as a waterfall boss? A pacifist run would be… really difficult and probably entail Frisk living as a peaceful fugitive in the Underground for years before the monsters come to terms with the fact that Frisk isn’t as bad as Clover. Ironically Frisk would probably have to live in the areas Clover wiped out since that’s where there wouldn’t be any monsters to threaten them. But eventually I’m sure Frisk could make peace. With no other Souls though… Frisk probably just lives in the Underground until they die of old age and give up their Soul to Undyne to be used to break the barrier. And who knows what happens from there? As a side note, if Chara ever wakes up or if Frisk does Genocide, Chara will be fucking *furious* to learn some human killed their best friend and adoptive father . Geno Frisk in this timeline would tear the Underground to shreds even more aggressively than normal (since there’s a much stronger self defense argument) and then probably hold off on wiping out humanity until they get the pleasure of killing Clover with their own hands. And since it took Clover until LV 20 to match a LV1 Frisk’s Determination? WOAH!!! (now i see i'm not the only one to make theories on comment sections haha). Really nice theory about what could happen and its honestly a very cool story for a game! I like how you can choose what ending you like the most and every ending haves pros and cons (genocide having more obviously) but yeah humans made bad things in the past and its kinda sad Clover gave their soul to Asgore since he just wants to continue the war but yeah, great analysis and pretty impressive!

@@Spino-hx2mr well in undertale love increases with your will to make violence or to hurt others so maybe Clover could level up when they see Frisk because they want to kill humanity (i think Frisk never increases LV with their willpower because they don't have much of a personality or story of why they fell down and also because they are being possesed by Chara)
