Yeah, the mirror (although can be used to signal) is for placing under the child’s nose, to see if they are still breathing. If it fogs up they are alive.

I’m 130+ miles carrying my two kids in the Deuter. Love it so much! Thanks for sharing this comparison Drew.

Backcountry Exposure is there a separate harness to fit 2 children? I just ordered one because we are having twins!

Dude, the offsprey poco ag does have a bottle holder right on the front right pack strap. Or atleast ours does. It’s about the size of a baby bottle, but it also has side pockets for water bottles. The offsprey one also helps keep bugs off baby with the mesh sides. And I swear I don’t work for them.

The mirror is to look back to see if everything’s OK with the child ;-)

Thanks for the comparison video this really helped with my research. I'm in New Zealand so everything here is expensive, since i have to buy a pack new anyway i'll be going with the Osprey.

I bought a used Kelty and absolutely love it. It's an older, discontinued model, but it's great. I really want one that has a hood like the newer ones have. I'd love an Osprey, but a bit pricy. I mean, they're all pricy, lol. Thanks for the vid!

I am 6'3". Kelty kid carrier kills my back. Hot spots and knots form in my back below my shoulder blades. The frame legs can hit the top of your butt when you walk too. Did not fit my body at all. My sister used the kelty for years with her kids and it was great for her.

These guys made a mistake with the Kelty. The Kelty is collapsible, loosen the inside two yellow straps allow the "roll cage" to fold.

Thanks. I've got an older Kelty Kub they did just for Amazon and it kills my shoulders plus at 30 inches tall my little guy doesn't seem very comfortable either

I would add the Tough Traveler Stallion. www.toughtraveler.com/cat2.asp Mine was bought 15 years ago and when through 6-7 years of hard use, through multiple kids and has been borrowed by multiple people in its retirement. It is still in good shape, some stitching is showing its age. It is comfortable enough that I would fly fish comfortably with my son in it. I would also cut the grass using a push mower with him in it on occasion. As a bonus it is made in Schenectady, NY. One of the best accessories for it was a small mirror that could attached(Velcro) to the shoulder strap so I could see what they were doing.

Osprey, then Deuter. Kelty isn’t even close IMHO.

I make a point not to carry kids in the woods. Water is heavy enough. :) Seriously, which one keeps pee and vomit from running down our backs? That may be the most important questions.
