I traded in my 2010 Genesis 3.8 to a 2015 Genesis 5.0. My 2010 was paid off for years and I had NO INTENTION of making car payments again. I went to the dealer for an oil change and became curious as to how the 2015's looked. As soon as the doors were opened, I was SUCKED IN. I fell in love and bought it. I got an INCREDIBLY good deal seeing as to how I wasn't in the market to buy a car at all so the salesman chipped that number down until he hit the number I wanted. I have had ZERO regrets. I used to tell myself that never in my life would I own a Hyundai, but after I was tricked into liking the Genesis (LOL) I've loved that car since. I never once hated it and whenever I had minor issues they were dealt with at the dealer. I also tested the lane assist and kept my hand slightly off of the wheel while on the freeway. While on a turn (not sharp), the car did stay in the lane. It was pretty cool. I love my car so much!

I plan on leasing the G80 sport if I'm impressed by the test drive. I recently rented an Elantra the other day and didn't like the steering and handling at all. It was too loose and indirect, hopefully with the Genesis it's different.
@dylan-nguyen7 жыл бұрын
wouldn't lease the genesis new, used prices for a 2015 are in the 25k range for the V8 im sure the V6 would be even cheaper. the g80 and g80 sport aren't too different, its not as sporty as a non sport model of a german car (so g80 sport < 540i non m-sport) if new I'd say the Lexus GS is more sporty so that'd be the car to lease since their used prices dont drop as much as the genesis

NeverStopPulling agreed haha keep em on their toes
@jonathancharles219 жыл бұрын
NeverStopPulling Actually, it's 425 hp M cars that go 0-60 in 3.9 seconds- and that's stock. And the M3/M4 that you incorrectly referenced sells for $62k-$64k new not $100,000 new. You can pay an extra $1,200 for a tune and downpipe to get 65 whp and 70 wtq. The M5/M6 have 560 hp and 500 ft/ib and sells for $100k+. There is no Hyundai, Kia or Mitsubishi that can achieve those numbers stock. Why would I pay $52k+ (base model price) for a Hyundai genesis v8 with horrible mpgs (15 city), a heavy 4600+ pounds, 0-60 time of only 5.06 seconds and an unreliable brand? I, along with many others, would rather pay an extra few thousand for a M with a proven car brand and 4 years of free maintenance. Talk about having peace of mind!

***** Who buys a luxury car for fuel economy? Lol! I do say the Hyundai is no BMW. I also do say that the Hyundai is a better buy if you want to keep it long term. I wouldn't keep a BMW past the warranty. Its proven that parts are expensive for BMWs. The BMW will probably be in the shop before the Hyundai and more often than it too. The 4.8l V8s on the later model 5,6,&7 series had/have the dumbest engineering of a cooling pipe running through the middle of the engine. That is a 7000 dollar repair for oem parts or 1600 dollar repair for a custom made pipe with a gasket on the ends of the pipe. The only BMWs worth owning are the ones with the inline 6 engine paired with a manual transmission. The automatics are garbage after 150,000 miles. To butcher the hyundai too they cut out some of the bs people dont use and also they dont use the latest technology in their engines. It is on par with Volvo to be honest when it comes to the "luxury feel" which is ok but no Mercedes or BMW.
@dkdkrmfjr9 жыл бұрын
***** i dont know why you stew comparing m3/m4 to genesis when they are completely different type of cars. Genesis is a luxury sedan, not a sports car like m series.m3 and m4 is a small car compare to the genesis. Thats why is faster on 0-60.

I own the 2015 Genesis 5.0 ultimate edition and it's a blast!! When they released the Gen in Korea, they sold like hot cakes!! After the stock in Korea was depleted, the Koreans sought to buy out all of the cars sent to the US and had them shipped back to Korea! I got lucky and landed one at a stiff increase in price.... VERY nice car with all of the features of expensive cars. In 2021 I had the mufflers removed and unleashed an astounding car that sounded like a cross between a BMW and 5.0 Mustang!!!! No Ragrets ;-) The stock muffs were robbing the car of HP and more! I have a vid on my channels, cold starting the Gen after being unplugged and vids cruising around..... I dig on this car because you'll see a Tesla every 30 seconds but won't see the 2015 Gen more than once in a lifetime!!!

Then I got to the video where you announce you were selling the car. It seemed like a hard moment. And you explained that the reason you did that was to be able to sustain your living habits but also to be able to continue KZbin. And here you are. With a Mustang EcoBoost. This is really inspirational. You believed in your channel so much that you were willing to sacrifice something that meant a lot to you in order to continue with it. And you did. And you're growing and growing. I can't begin to imagine how far you'll get if you continue to do this and love what you do. I had never been a fan of Hyundai until recently. I was in the market for a midsize sedan and I eventually went with a 2015 Toyota Camry XSE, but I was SERIOUSLY impressed by the Hyundai Sonata. To be completely honest, it's probably a better car than the Camry in many aspects. But for me, reliability, resale, and loyalty won out; my family and I have always driven Toyota/Lexus. I'm really glad that the so called "cheap brands" like Kia and Hyundai are shedding that moniker. Competition is never a bad thing. And great review by the way. The Genesis looks like a great car for people who aren't concerned about badges. And I've seen a LOT of them driving around my town recently.

Beautiful car inside and out. People say it's quality... Feels like quality and all... To be honest... Everything still has the cheap touch and feel. You simply get what you pay for. There's a reason an Audi or Mercedes costs more. And you feel it the second you open the door, grip the wheel or control the media interface. I'm not saying the Genesis is bad... It's awesome, but don't think you're buying a S class Benz for half price.

This car is available with AWD and with that drivetrain it comes with the 3.8 engine and a Heated steering wheel and rear Heated seats exclusive to the AWD models. Also I would have added some detail to the things you did mention like the nav screen; Its 720p! I did like the fact you talk about the duel use of the screen via touch and knob! Another thing to note under the cool features would be the power, self opening trunk when you come up to it from behind(When locked). Lastly since you always talk about the side bolsters; the fact that this car has adjustable side bolsters. Other than those smaller things great review!

My brother had a loaner 2015 Forester that had Subaru's Eyesight with adaptive cruise. It's kind of a weird feeling but adaptive cruise that's capable of going to a complete stop is a pretty neat system. Coming away from it, adaptive cruise is neat but feels like it could make certain types of people really lazy. I kind of fear it will train people to pay less attention to traffic and any failure or use of non-equipped cars may become more problematic for people so used to ignoring what's in front of you. It will be interesting how usage evolves and how people become affected by the tool.

Good unbiased review matt. I completely agree that cars like these are here to stay. the Europeans and the Japanese can only "bastardise" their product to meet this car in price, because once you kit out those to a comparable spec and the price isn't as palatable. Not to mention the after sales warranty ( I don't think you factored that in for the review) that the Koreans have, there is nothing in the market quite like these cars.

If there's any constructive criticism I could give you would be to be more solid on your negatives. Usually when you say a negative right after you'll say you're just nitpicking which kind of nullifies your negative. Awesome content none the less man :D
@vlad18899 жыл бұрын
Kyle Rogers It was nitpicking.....One simply will not change his opinion or selection of a vehicle on the premise of how "soft" the leather is on such a small area. In most likelihood they made it more durable so it will not crack and scratch after 4-5 years. Again, for that price range that was "nitpicking" if the car's cost exceeds 65+70 range then i would agree.
@darogers1259 жыл бұрын
Vlad B I know but if you watch a lot of his videos he tends to barely focus on negatives so that was just my advice :D

Kyle Rogers I know what you're saying, i watched many of his videos. I think he just treads carefully not to stir up many trolls and negative butt hurt comments. @iSOBigD9 жыл бұрын
Kyle Rogers I think he was just being honest. By that logic, I could take the "benchmark" 3 series and go "the door handles are cheap plastic, most of the dash is plastic, the leather wrapped parts have no padding under them, some models don't even have HID or LED lights, or any type of display, terrible car." Nothing's perfect, but it depends on what you find important and what you find good but not perfect, or great for the price but just not as good as more expensive cars.

The car looks great, is silent, has ample power, plenty of tech features, is very ergonomic, has a great warranty, and has (at the very least) acceptable fit and finish. I think that even if you could afford an S-Class or a 7 series, you'd be stupid to not look at these.

Gorgeous automobile, I have driven one quiet as a library with all the technology you could ever want in a car, put's other car manufacturers to shame at this price point 5 Star crash rating, 5 Star reliability Hyundai Genesis are keepers new and older models.

That trunk view killed it right off the bat. The orange peel was so bad. I am a fan of the Genesis line though.

I've seen it once near my friend's home. The design was very sick. Not even only design, price, safety are very good except the reputation. Anyway, we can't find better than this car under 50 grand.

The Genesis is a great car, which is made better given how little you paid for it. Obviously there are some drawbacks (that insane weight & thirst for fuel) but again I come back to the price. For the same money as an Audi A6 2.0T, BMW 335i/528i or Mercedes C400/E300, this will perform just as good for daily driving & give LOTS of stuff where the Germans will dime you on the options sheet.

This car has been out for a while now and I rarely see ANY on the road where I live. The new Genesis is amazing in every way and is a great competitor in it class but not a lot of people buy it. Consumers buy what other consumers buy regardless of how luxurious a model is. This car is luxurious but most people usually define luxury by the brand name. Hyundai doesn't really fit in people's egotistical standards of luxury just because of the name. Honestly I love the car, just saying people would rather buy a base model CLA than a fully loaded Hyundai Genesis, just for the sole purpose to say they drive a Benz.

Devonte Moore Yeah that's the common thing to do, everyone drives a base model C250, CLA250, base 3 series, 2L A4, etc. When you could get a fully equipped 330-430hp Genesis. I drive a Genesis and there's one other owned with a 2015 a few blocks away, and another 2014-2014 model, but I see entry level Audis, BMWs and Mercs every few seconds just driving anywhere. If exclusivity matters to you, it's a good car to buy, especially the Equus which is even more rare, and it turns heads daily.

They did a great job on Exterior styling - it has great presence in real life on the road. Interior is a BMW copy and still has a lot of CHEAP plastics such as the ugly trim on the center console.

QUESTION: does this car last long as Lexus and Infinity ?

You can't say for sure right now--the Genesis has only been out for about five years. There's actually a whole new brand coming out now called Genesis Motors. I expect it to be relatively good when it comes to reliability.

I personally like the Germans in this segment, but my grandpa has owned all generations of the Genesis, and I must say, they have greatly improved throughout the years! It slowly has creeped into the luxury segment, and has impressed me and many past "non-believers" of Hyundai. However, I must add that it's quite boring at times. Yes, there is a huge 5.0L V8, but it doesn't sound like it. It's very quiet. This is a smart buy for the price you pay, considering the other options. Definitely recommended for those who aren't badge whores, and want a great looking car with more features than those that cost even $100k+.

You did not mention if there was an available app like on the Tesla and how much remote concierge service we can get. The adaptive cruise is a start. (I am acknowledging the auto-pilot is around the corner).
