I was deciding mustang GT or this scatpack , I’m buying scatpack...
@JLRide4 жыл бұрын
Can't go wrong with either one. Charger is a little slower and worse handler but it is also a family sedan. The Mustang is quicker, handles better, and offers a stick shift but is only a 2+2 seater coupe. I had a 2017 Mustang GT. Great car. I miss it. But I am considering a Charger Scat Pack as my next family sedan. They are both sexy. Can't go wrong with either choice.
@khaosstacks59394 жыл бұрын
Jose Luis I really love the mustang but I heard it’s bad on gas, I’m looking for a first car and I’m kinda stuck, and I definitely want something quick with handling, opinion?
@JLRide4 жыл бұрын
@@khaosstacks5939 I don't know your budget but Mazda Miatas are rear wheel drive, quick with great handling and are good on gas. Any car with a big engine will waste lots of gas and depending where you live can be very expensive. The Miata is really fun and light. My Mustang however is slightly better on gas than my buddies Charger RT. I think it is mostly because it is smaller and lighter but it still bad on gas. It all depends on your budget.
@caloFi4 жыл бұрын
Jose Luis miatas are for bitches, don’t mention it to man
@JLRide4 жыл бұрын
@@caloFi Ha Ha. No, the Miata is a great car. It isn't a 5.0 Mustang but price wise it is comparable to the 4 cylinder Ecoboost and for a young person on a budget it is probably a better buy. The Dodge Charger Scatpack is a great fun family car but is a FAMILY car and doesn't handle like a sports car. The base Mustang Ecoboost is okay and the base Charger SXT is okay but a base Miata is super fun for less money which handles better and uses less gas. If he were just sticking between the Big 3 U.S.A. corporations then you are limited to Dodge Charger & Challenger, Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro. All are Rear Wheel Drive and can be fun but they were all designed to have big V8 engines and the economy versions of them still have to carry all that extra weight which can be underwhelming. Bottom line is it takes big money to buy and run a great powerful car. He said it would be his first car which likely means low funds. I still think a used Miata would be a great first car that is fun, handles great, and gives you great MPGs. When he makes big bucks then upgrade to a V8 of his choosing. Just my 2 cents. It doesn't matter.

@floridamaddogg6 жыл бұрын
Mustlehard yeah I see them around too, but still not as much as I see mustangs and camaros. I owned a scat pack about 2 years ago (currently have a Hellcat) and can't deny how nice they are. Sound, exterior, interior, performance, can't really go wrong. Only negative thing is it doesn't handle as well as its competitors, but then again, unless you are going to track it, you really wont notice it. Scats still come with the bilstein shocks and sport tuned suspension, so not shabby at all.
@joemomma71616 жыл бұрын
Mustlehard where? I own a 2012 mustang gt, 2014 evo x gsr, and 2018 Dodge Charger scat pack with dynamics package. I see more 5.0s and EVOs than scat packs. I see a lot of chargers but they are mostly the v6 or the lower powered RT, not the scat pack. Handling, evo is my favorite. Straight line performance, the scat pack is my favorite. Most comfortable seat for me is the evo recaros. They provide great back support. My back feels best in those. Favorite car at the moment is most def the charger but it is mostly for my wife. I rather have a more dedicated track car that is both fast on the straight and turns. Like a ZL1 but those are ugly to me

Good review Matt, you summed it up well! The Scat Pack really is the best bang for your buck that Dodge offers IMO which is why you see them a lot. I have a near fully loaded 2015 Challenger Scat Pack with the Shaker and manual trans. It's a lot of fun and I plan to do a few mods to kick it up a notch. I always say that Dodge doesn't get enough credit for making these cars as refined as they are. Yes we all know they're big and sort of hot rod like, but they drive great and will put a smile on anyone's face. They're so overshadowed by the Hellcats, but out in the real world they have PLENTY of power for the street. Especially if you plan on daily driving one.

That is really a beautiful and more pure Scatpack sedan. The Mitsubishi dealer could’ve vacuumed off that dash before you did your detailed look, it was very distracting. I’ve driven the Challenger and the charger and I feel the Charger with the longer wheelbase has better handling dynamics than the challenger. That being said, since my wife and I are now empty-nesters, I purchased the challenger scat pack for 2020 and haven’t looked back. Great car, and so far knock on wood, rock solid reliability!

Main reason ive aimed more towards an Infiniti is because price is cheaper. The 3.0T sport is low 30K range which the Red sport 400 and Charger scat pack are much more identical in price. If you can afford the Scat, the extra power is nice!

I hate when y’all point out the most irrelevant detail about the car like key for instance “it’s nothing fancy just plastic” what do you want it to look like? Diamond in bedded in the key or the gate key to the heaven my god

Really recommend SRT Charger. It's approx 8K more, but the tires, brakes, and suspension upgrades are worth it. That 6.4 has so much power...it's managed better under SRT.

eromusofwom the srt is gone now and the dynamics package gives you all the performance stuff for only a few thousand.

Matt do you think this car is better than the first Camaro ZL1 you review?
@stanleysimmonsreactions90566 жыл бұрын
Doesn't seem like he had the car in sport mode. Shifts were pretty slow and throttle response was also slow

Bill Pence I just rented a Charger R/T and was blown away. The Scat Pack edition must be even wilder.
@billpence54445 жыл бұрын
@@stevenreichertart I love it! I was almost gonna buy a Camaro SS and fell in love the Scat Pack... it's amazing trust me:). I ultimately bought a Jaguar Ftype S (V6 supercharged) but I still love American muscle! what a great time to be alive!

Challenger scat pack better? Or charger scat pack?
@zackfailla74256 жыл бұрын
Hey Matt! Quick question, which feels faster in a straight line, this car or the 6th gen Camaro SS? I know the Camaro is actually slightly faster, but as far as driver feel :)
@IReahpZz6 жыл бұрын
Zack Failla being heavier the charger feels faster. But there's quite a gap in speed as you know. Similar in feel to the taurus sho if you have driven that. Puts you in the seat pretty firmly!
@zackfailla74256 жыл бұрын
Wedow Wedow Gotcha, so the weight of the Charger makes it feel faster even tho in reality it’s not, thanks!
@IReahpZz6 жыл бұрын
Zack Failla yeah! Weight transfer makes it feel. Much faster. I had a tuned sho and I now own a tuned Infiniti q60rs. The q60 would leave the sho for dead but because of there being more suspension give and tourqe the sho felt like it made 800hp from a dig, just planted you in he seat. If you want that shove feeling the Kia stinger is a great bang for buck option. Car really surprised me

I have seen several drag and roll races between scat packs and 6th gen camaro SS (on KZbin but in person too) and I have seen both win. Sometimes scat looses, but other times it wins. It's better for the charger in roll racing too because takes lack of grip out of question. Per printed spec numbers from magazines, I've seen 0-60 mph times slightly faster with the SS, but that was only one publication. The others have them basically equal. For me personally, the SS does nothing for me. Not a huge fan of it. The ZL1 1LE maybe only camaro I like, but then again, I own a Challenger Hellcat (6 speed manual) so I prefer my car over the ZL1. I don't track my car so don't care about the handling advantage of the ZL1.

Matthew Stephan it's really a toss up and what you want. The dodge products are on the comfortable side. Nice that you have a manual hell cat!
