I noticed when you brought up the tire pressure monitor that the tires are way over inflated. They should be at 38 PSI , not 49. That would contribute to some of the handling concerns you mentioned.

I just graduated and I have a baby on the way so I needed a family car and I was thinking about this truck or the charger scat pack. I really wanted sound and power and the raptor delivered with power but not sound. Ended up getting a octane red scat so yeah. No regrets. Plan on getting this in a few years because who doesn't have a truck in Texas?!

I love the new Raptor. My partner just got one and it rides, handles and performs incredibly for a truck. If I had not just bought my S6 I would have probably bought a Raptor. Had to haul some stones for a project in my S6 and it is not as capable in that area as a Raptor would be. Cannot see hauling my enclosed trailer and my kayaks with the S6 either. On the other hand the S6 is an incredible car for what it does. Not many canyons to carve hear in the Chicago area though.

Obviously he doesn’t have much experience driving the latest Raptor. Place the TRUCK (it is a truck, so stop comparing it to sports cars, even though I do enjoy smoking a few that are willing to go up against my Raptor) in Baja mode and you get zero lag and a ton of fun as you hold on tight for the launch at any speed!

I realize you cover A LOT of detail in these reviews but one thing I noticed you omitted was the Dual Pane Moonroof which I presume is not standard. So a solution to remedying the reduced headspace in the back seat would be to buy one without it. Great review as always though Matt. :)

*bigger, better suspension not as "raked" as a regular truck. More leveled for better off road clearance in the front. Fox brand shocks, fender flares, bigger 33" BF Goodrich ATs, and obviously the Raptor trim and appearance that's all over the exterior and interior. Sport shift stick/shift paddles behind steering wheel, of course the moon roof, leather seats with Raptor styling. These are just some things off the top of my head. Look at a plain F-150 and yeah. You won't be too impressed with its front cloth bench seat that has a third seat that flips up in the middle and lever shift behind the wheel. Not as "cool and sporty" as the typical SubaruWRXfan follower would be impressed by

Now compare this to a Ram Rebel, a Chevy Z71 off road, a Toyota Tundra TRD PRO, and maybe even the Nissan Titan Pro 4X. I will have so much respect for you going into a class of vehicle you don't know much about. Sucks you don't have any good trails in your area like you mentioned, you could test out the differences in their suspensions, clearances, etc. As well as maybe simpler things like, which interior you prefer, engine, trans, you know. Thanks for the review!

I was very very spectacle about this Raptor being a V6 because V8 was always the way to go. Shhhhhh this truck is a damn animal. 450hps and 510ft of torque makes this truck a bad Mr! How in the hell do you do that? I'm from Dallas Texas where we think trucks were apart of you're up bringing next to the Good Lord and the Dallas Cowboys. To say this V6 is a beast almost makes me embarrassed to say but man it is.

Absolutely love this truck but... 1) should have a V8 option (as most have mentioned). And 2) I can’t help but think that the interior looks cheap. These trucks go for 98k up here in Canada. For a hundred thousand dollar vehicle, you’d expect a little more class on the interior.

Dan The Man it's for when your racing in the desert at high speeds you don't have to look at the steering wheel to try and find top dead center on the wheel.

In racing it can be helpful for knowing where dead-center is on the wheel in competitive situations. Lots of race cars have it for this reason and it's now trickled down to some street cars.

To see where the wheels are pointed in turning. The centerline. Usually seen in more track focused performance cars, but I guess it could be useful for off-roading as well.

I only say that because that Raptor weighs almost 3 tons and no matter how great the V6 twin-turbo is it needs a bigger Engine with bigger turbos and more torque to feel much better on the road.

Klasse Act their are rumors for the 2019 model year(2018 for us) refresh when for unveils their new 7.0L V8 they will be putting it in the raptor. This was their plan all along to have their V6 in it for a few years to get the sales then put the V8 which everyone wants in it so they get more sales.

I hate to break it to you, but the 2011+ V6 Mustang is indeed faster, both on the drag strip and a road course. Do some research if you don't believe it. It's 5 seconds faster around VIR (Car & Driver) and it runs the 1/4 mile a full second faster (Motortrend). Don't get me wrong, the FoST is a great car, but it's in a different class. It does plenty of things better than the Mustang, but it is slower.
