In fact I'm going to be looking for some aftermarket options to add just because at this point I need more switches.

This made it an easy decision to just get the switches added from the factory when I purchase my jeep! Thank you!!

You sir are brave for getting this done! One of the other reasons for getting this as a factory installed option aka Trailer and Tow package, is the upgraded alternator and battery.

Wow, great video. I almost bought those switches. I am so glad I did not. I purchased Lasfit switches.

I was going to likely add this but don't think so now. I didn't realize needed to reprogram the system to do it. Its a cheap enough option that should be on most Jeeps to begin with.

This isn't really that hard. But I do understand the frustration. The directions are decent and the plug they give you for the switch is numbered. The hardest part was running the harness through the firewall. Use the big white zip ties from the hardware store to run the harness. Coat hangers can be a pain. Electrical tape the whole harness and a little bit of light lubricant on the tape. The directions even state this. Even on some of the aftermarket harnesses, you have to take the dash apart. Except for the Switch Pros which 200 dollars more than the Mopar set. If the dealer is charging 100 - 200 dollars they are ripping you off. All they have to do is add the accessory code to the PCM for them to work. Shouldn't be more than 40 bucks. Mine was done for free, but that's only because the dealer I use, I have been dealing with for over 15 years. Any other dealer was 25 - 40 bucks. Tip: Make sure you have the rivet gun for the plastic rivets. Tip 2: Make sure you have the package with a 240 amp alternator. Running all the lights and all the accessories will kill your battery if you have a smaller alternator.

I ran an inverter under my back seat. It sucked. I ran a pull string with it for the future.

Mine worked just fine when I installed them. And they are integrated into your keeps system. I would say do it, they are nice switches. And it’s complicated because they are integrated. If you don’t care about that get something else but don bash them just because you had a hard time with them

Question for you: can you point me to what and where you ordered the parts and did you install them yourself or have someone else install?

I wonder what was your reasoning for going mopar? Is it simply to keep things factory? Why not go for a switch system which is 100-200$ cheaper which usually comes with 6 switches but you could get 4 for even cheaper.

does it void warranty when you put aftermarket switch pad?

Its not aftermarket, it is made by mopar.

@@MohawkDaveOffRoad Once you start modifying the wiring the dealer can easily use that against you to deny warranty on just about any electrical item.
@MohawkDaveOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
It will not if you install it correctly. If there is a warranty claim in order to deny a claim the dealer must prove that what you installed caused the issue. This kit is sold from mopar for you to install it yourself.

@@MohawkDaveOffRoad Yeah, that's what I'm saying. They will look for a reason to deny. Just ordered a Sahara but did not get the tow package with switches. It was adding up too fast and the factory increased base price by ~$1k middle of January. Not really planning on adding much but will regret the lack of switches, I'm sure.

@QwikKota kzbin.info/www/bejne/maHThWBtltdsa5I do this instead. It's cheap and it works awesome. I also have videos on the trailer hitch. You can score one on Amazon for super cheap like I did. It works great as I tow the can am everywhere. Just as a side note, the jk hitch fits the jl perfectly; all you need is a plug in and play harness for the tow wires.
