Everyone ignores the fact that the 3.6L V6 used by GM in so many models in recent years, is the most unreliable V6 engine that the car maker has ever used! Ironically, the one that came before it, the 3.8L V6 is one of the absolute best engines GM ever made! Go ask any independent mechanic who wrenches on GM vehicles. So many customers with broken 3.6L engines. These mechanics can easily afford to put their children through college, full tuition, thanks to customers bringing in their GM vehicles for repair.

Kept waiting for a dealership to get one in that I could test drive. In over a year; not a single GS came to any of the 5 Buick/GMC dealers here. The closest ones were down in DFW area. So, the idea of just popping down to try it out, fall in love and buy one never happened. I just get the feeling that it's one of those cars that flies under the radar, but is secretly very good. Very common for GM, because they suck at advertising their best vehicles. My only gripes for this car are 1. No manual option, but fine if it had paddle shifters, which it doesn't. 2. Nicholas Spolar The GS has much more cargo room with the hatchback, is more powerful yet runs regular gas, is about 0.5 sec quicker to 60 and in the 1/4 mile, and has a better shifting transmission (quick shifts and doesn't hunt for gears). The GS has GM's latest infotainment and a large digital display in the gauge cluster. The GS interior is a bit monotone, but IMO the TLX interior looks outdated (even still has a CD slot). If you take the Hatchback similarity away, the Audi/Kia/BMW have nothing in common with the Buick. While the 2.0T versions of BMW & Kia are vanquished by a FWD regal, their boosted V6 versions are bonafide performance cars. The Regal GS is a FWD based midsize sedan with the gimmick of a hatch, brembos, and adjustable suspension. The TLX, MKZ, Accord, Camry, Altima, Mazda 6, and Fusion are the Regals competitors.

The Regal Sportback 2.0T with torque vectoring AWD definitely is a niche. The interior dimensions are a bbn out one inch less than Accord but the trunk space is twice the Accrod. Add in discouting of almost $10,000 MSRP and the longer warranty is icing on the cake.

a good effort by buick. engine sounds good. with another 100hp it would be competetive with the kia stinger.
@franke13705 жыл бұрын
I'd say it already is just based on the price is 10k less. I didn't want to spend that much more to get another 55 hp - car was already expensive enough, lol

Is there an aftermarket turbo that could be added to this 3.6?
@bigmacdaddy12345 жыл бұрын
Dude it's a damn Buick, used to go to Walmart. Get a proper car if you want a turbo.
@metalbob33355 жыл бұрын
if you are ambitious anything can go turbo even with the stock supercharger is still on it , note ambition is key , money comes in as well

Matt Maran Motoring, Buick Regal GS is nice I don't like that bright red they should leave that color for the Fire Department. I like more darker colors like Metallic Red or Burgundy Red also maybe in the future Buick should boost up more the horse power from 310 to 365, I also noticed that the two front seats has no pockets but who knows maybe Buick will stop making the Buick Regal Sporty look but I could be wrong Thank You for posting.

Never seen a V6 model in the US only 2.0T due to Liberal Green anti HP standards. Think were more in tune with saving trees than saving Buick unfortunately

How does this car have brembos??? It’s not necessary to have them especially when it’s not a TT V6

It's become bit of a fad for entry level "sports" cars. Fake air scoops, sports car brakes and flat bottom steering wheels tell the average car buyer that this is a sports car worthy of your attention.

Man they got rid of pontiac but not Buick? I always felt that this brand was irrelevant compared to other GM owned automakers. I have never been interested in any of their cars
@normt54635 жыл бұрын
Should Acura be irrelevant to Honda as it sells less cars than Buick?

Love the car but GM is killing itself with poor interiors. They're so bad that it has been a deal-breaker for me on every car I've sat in. The other deal breaker for me is the start stop annoyance that can't be shut off.

This is why the GS doesn’t sell. It doesn’t have that performance or luxury that it should have. An ATS-V engine in this vehicle and a little more luxury and convenience features and it will sell more. In my opinion the Regal has always looked better then the ATS. now if the ATS had the New CTS grill and LEDs then I’d get the ATS V series.

I think it’s comical that gm decided to keep the Buick brand instead of Saturn and are now trying to appeal to younger buyers… Saturn was basically created for that but GM lost their way in typical fashion
