B Fisher I completely disagree. I insist that any GSX, GNX, Grand National, T Type, and even Grand Sport MUST be a rear wheel drive COUPE with a proper V-8 or turbo V-6. Using iconic names on front wheel drive and sedans is blasphemous.

Sedans are a cheap, lightweight and simple formula for a car chassis design. The majority of new car buyers are Gen X'ers and Boomers, both of which are considerably more financially priveleged than millennials and the gen Z kids that will grow up today. I believe sedans will make a comeback due to the financial discrepancy between generations and that SUVs will go back down to what they're meant to be: utility vehicles, rather than glorified children transporters.

3.6 twin turbo with the GSX or GNX badge, then I'd get a little bit more excited about this car. It seems good for a all season cruiser but if you are going to put a performance name on there when you have better options for power, people are going to be disappointed.

Everyone ignores the fact that the 3.6L V6 used by GM in so many models in recent years, is the most unreliable V6 engine that the car maker has ever used! Ironically, the one that came before it, the 3.8L V6 is one of the absolute best engines GM ever made! Go ask any independent mechanic who wrenches on GM vehicles. So many customers with broken 3.6L engines. These mechanics can easily afford to put their children through college, full tuition, thanks to customers bringing in their GM vehicles for repair.

Buick needs to stop cheating out and make that rear taillight a full LED setup!! Don’t half ass it like Infiniti does. Reliability back up?? Not with that 3.6L V6 it's not. The 3.8L V6 was one of the greatest engines GM ever made quite a few years back. Why they replaced it with one of the least reliable engines in the company's history, no clue! RUN, don't walk, away from any GM vehicle with the 3.6L in it. Unless you want your car parked more often at the repair shop than in your garage.

Great review! Been waiting to see more big name youtube folks review the GS. A very impressive package for sure. I was hunting these for a while here in OKC area. Kept waiting for a dealership to get one in that I could test drive. In over a year; not a single GS came to any of the 5 Buick/GMC dealers here. The closest ones were down in DFW area. So, the idea of just popping down to try it out, fall in love and buy one never happened. I just get the feeling that it's one of those cars that flies under the radar, but is secretly very good. Very common for GM, because they suck at advertising their best vehicles. My only gripes for this car are 1. No manual option, but fine if it had paddle shifters, which it doesn't. 2. GS should be more special in the engine bay 400+hp Turbo V6. 3. Auto stop/start disable

New Buick Regal is very refined. It drives super smooth, seats are comfortable and it feels like an expensive car. Cheap GM parts show on the interior, but they do not make it worse. Legroom up front is great, wide enough for taller people, unlike new Mazda 6 or Honda Accord. Rear legroom is fantastic. Cargo room is great. In fact new Regal rides and feels as good or better than many new Cadillacs. Bose audio is great, adaptive LED headlights are wonderful. I love my 2018 Regal. Nicholas Spolar The GS has much more cargo room with the hatchback, is more powerful yet runs regular gas, is about 0.5 sec quicker to 60 and in the 1/4 mile, and has a better shifting transmission (quick shifts and doesn't hunt for gears). The GS has GM's latest infotainment and a large digital display in the gauge cluster. The GS interior is a bit monotone, but IMO the TLX interior looks outdated (even still has a CD slot). The TLX will have better resale, but you can get $5k-$10k off the GS MSRP.

To be honest real world price wise, the Stinger was suppose to be 49k, and yea msrp 52k but you are finding them upcharged with miles all over the place. You actually have to look for a decently priced Stinger GT. But the Buick on the other hand, for the 2018 model, witch has a few less perks then the 2019 you can find the Buick GS under 38k with miles, I think the Kia is still in "New hottness" mode.

It blows my mind that the GS doesn’t even have paddle shifters. Even if most owners might not use them, the paddles add to the sportiness of the car.

Agreed, for the most part. Granted, I would get annoyed rowing through 9 gears, but it bothers me knowing cars with NO sporty aspirations get paddles. Even the LaCrosse has paddles!

Julius Alexandria if you like the Giulia buy one. But put it up against Stinger, Audi A4, Mercedes A220, Dodge Charger, Lincoln MKZ, and 2020Cadillac CT4. I have an Alfa Romeo right now and it’s been great. Then again so was the Kia. My last two GM products had some issues.

If you take the Hatchback similarity away, the Audi/Kia/BMW have nothing in common with the Buick. While the 2.0T versions of BMW & Kia are vanquished by a FWD regal, their boosted V6 versions are bonafide performance cars. The Regal GS is a FWD based midsize sedan with the gimmick of a hatch, brembos, and adjustable suspension. The TLX, MKZ, Accord, Camry, Altima, Mazda 6, and Fusion are the Regals competitors.
@normt5463

The Regal Sportback 2.0T with torque vectoring AWD definitely is a niche. The interior dimensions are a bbn out one inch less than Accord but the trunk space is twice the Accrod. Add in discouting of almost $10,000 MSRP and the longer warranty is icing on the cake.

This will be an amazing value on the used market in a year or two. Buick needs to brand build and undercut their competitors on their entry models to get some folks to come over and try them. Also who here wasn’t surprised to see the 3.6 NA in this.

Matt you should do a full comparison price, trim video/ Opinion video on the Kia Stinger GT vs. Buick Regal GS I like both of these cars, both have All Wheel Drive, The Buick is worth the money, very nice, also has great seats, nice interior, seems pretty quick. The Kia is faster, gorgeous interior, and has the better warranty. The Buick maybe due to being lighter, I felt handled better, Kia was quicker, the Buick also seemed like it had a quieter ride to me.

I'm not sure why people are comparing the 3.6TT Stinger GT to the GS. IMO, it should be the Stinger 2.0T AWD premium trim as a closer competitor. Priced almost identically, and the power differences are much more in line, with torque as a benchmark. Just my $.02.

@@StiltsRU985 the stinger gt doesnt have a 3.6tt, its a 3.3tt. and the buick regal GS is like a middle ground (in power) between the 2.0t and 3.3tt Stinger.

Matt Maran Motoring, Buick Regal GS is nice I don't like that bright red they should leave that color for the Fire Department. I like more darker colors like Metallic Red or Burgundy Red also maybe in the future Buick should boost up more the horse power from 310 to 365, I also noticed that the two front seats has no pockets but who knows maybe Buick will stop making the Buick Regal Sporty look but I could be wrong Thank You for posting.

This is why the GS doesn’t sell. It doesn’t have that performance or luxury that it should have. An ATS-V engine in this vehicle and a little more luxury and convenience features and it will sell more. In my opinion the Regal has always looked better then the ATS. now if the ATS had the New CTS grill and LEDs then I’d get the ATS V series.
