Tbh the cars like the Ativa and HR-V are not in the same ballpark as the 2008 The Ativa is too cramped and small to be of same size, and too rudimentary to drive. The HR-V well, bless it, it really is starting to feel it's age where even things cars even like Ativa are catching on the drivability. The 2008 is definately not a brain over heart buy, and those who bought it certainly loved it's style, and effortless cruising ability. Driving the 2008 on long journeys versus the HR-V, the HR-V really just does feel like a larger Myvi. Wheres the 2008 is cosseting, confortable and you still feel refreshed after long journeys.

Because we're still stuck with the 2018 Renault Captur. Which given it's age, features and price, doesn't exactly give the greatest value proposition.

Long term realiblty is still question mark? Actually putting in a 1.2L 4-cylinder would be better then a 1.2L 3-cylinder in long term ownership
@carlist_my2 жыл бұрын
That's a question for Father Time Derek. While you can refer to history as a gauge, time will ultimately answer the question of reliability. Two members of the Carlist.my team do, however, use Peugeots as daily drivers and they both report healthy engines with just regular maintenance.
@Twilight-cl3zc2 жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with Peugeot they are good cars. There are plenty of worse cars out there for certain. They've always been "middle of the road" a working man's car in Europe, like Renault, Fiat, Ford or Opel/Vauxhall, Citroen etc., but nobody buys them thinking otherwise and the manufacturer knows it too and doesn't try to market them as anything more. I wouldn't hesitate but I'd drive it and see. I don't think reliability wise they'd be worse than any other car, even VW or Seat as they don't do amazingly well in reliabilty surveys, no German cars do..Mercs, BMW, Audi etc, contrary to what many people would think and also their price tags in truth. Top of reliability is usually Lexus, then Toyota, then Honda. I'm not talking about any particular models, I mean as a manufacturers as a whole, taking all models into consideration. Never owned a Peugeot as their cars are a bit "Mumsy" but saying that so are many of the Japanese cars, like Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Suzuki, their ranges are a bit bland in Europe IMO. If you want fast, sporty and prestigious you buy German, if you want steady and bullet proof reliability you buy Japanese. We'll see how reliable Mazda's Kodo design cars are in a few years, I'd bet they dont match Toyota or Honda.

what about the reliability of Peugeot and this vehicle because older model was shit in reliability
@carlist_my2 жыл бұрын
Reliability is not something we can objectively comment on as that requires ownership, and long-term review. Having said that two current team members of the Carlist.my team uses Peugeots as daily drivers and besides regular maintenance and wear and tear they both report no issues with their cars.
