I have a new 2025 Civic Sport Hybrid with about 500 miles on it now. Love the car. My only complaint is the poor gas mileage I'm getting of only around 38 MPG. This is a far cry from the advertised mileage of 49 MPG. I do mostly city driving in normal mode. Any thoughts on why the poor efficiency?

I test drove one of these last weekend and I have to say, even from my short test-drive… this new 2025 Civic Hybrid is an absolute world class vehicle. It has something for everybody in my opinion, the power and ability to add handling add-ons for the enthusiasts, amazing gas mileage of a hybrid to draw in that crowd, a phenomenal sound system and wonderful interior quality, and so much more! I hope these things sell like hot cakes and force other manufacturers to catch up with better hybrid technology!

I'm comparing this to the 2025 Camry SE since the Civic is now quite large for a "compact" sedan. The price is close and the Camry has more power, but also weighs more. (Civic 200 hp / 32xx lbs vs Camry 225 hp / 34xx lbs). The Camry also has the option of AWD.

It is official. The Honda Civic is now a class of its own. Mazda does not offer hybrid power. The Corolla is nice but pail in comparison. Toyota would be better off comparing the new Camry. Actually considering the price that is very good idea.

Recently had my car totaled (luckily not fault). I’ve been a longtime Mazda fanboi, but my fiancée dragged me over to our local Honda dealer to test some accords and civics and I was blown away. I was shocked at the quality/feel of the hybrid and the creature comforts on the interior and entertainment system. After testing a ton of other comparable cars, I kept thinking about the hybrid civic. Signed and picked it up yesterday and I am so happy. Well done Honda!

I ordered mine beginning of September and I just picked it up. I searched all over the state looking for the color I wanted.. after driving it for 3 days this vehicle is a clear winner. The only slightest thing I wish Honda would’ve added was all weather floor mats, and cargo cover, AWD system, and 8 way adjustable memory seats. It’s a sharp car and i love the wireless apple car play that needs to be standard on all the trims!

The exception is when a conventional car would use overdrive. Since you don't measure performance during that operation, this car performs just like an EV.

Driven my Touring Hybrid about 1000 miles now. Powerful and fun in any mode with great MPG. If you want a tad smoother ride and a few more amenities then fork over another 6-7K for the loaded Accord Hybrid or look into a Camry. But this Civic is a home run and feels like a luxury car for the $$ if you ask me.

Love these. love Honda. HOWEVER, the pricing on them, at least here in Europe, is prohibitively expensive. These *start* at €39,000 which is nuts. Mazda 3 Sedan (not a hybrid which helps) starts at €26,000 and that's pricey too. Honda chose (or was forced by regulations) to sell ONLY the hybrid here. No Accords either. Love you Honda but Civic starting at 39k is insane..

You’re not the first person I’ve heard who is saddened by the absence of satellite radio. I personally can’t go back to satellite radio with heavily compressed audio. Especially because of how good the Bose is in the Civic. Apple Music with lossless is just so much cleaner sounding. Add in the fact that unlimited data is becoming cheaper and more readily available, plus a lot of new phones have upwards of 250 to 500 GB in storage if you’re in areas with inconsistent data.

The mpg seems to be like a roll of the dice. On Reddit in the Honda community there are some who tout 50 mpg like you in the video, then there are many others like myself who are not even getting 40 mpg. For the majority of the time I've had mine I've ridden in Econ mode. I drive mainly to work, which is only a few minutes away. And people continuously say that short drives negatively effect your mpg but I have a hard time being convinced that my MPG should be as low as it is no matter how I drive when they advertise 49 mpg combined. (My overall mpg since I've had the vehicle is 36.7 mpg with just under 1800 miles)

Dude, don’t try to color the Toyota Corolla LE hybrid very feeble 9.7 sec 0-60 time. It’s not even in the same country compared to Civic. The Prius 0-60 time is closer at 7.1 secs but still almost a sec slower than the Civic. Waiting for the prelude to come out.

That's possible, but if I remember correctly, the SiriusXM app doesn't work with CarPlay because they want you to subscribe to it in your car too. If the app does work, it also would be dependent on a good data connection, versus traditional Sirius just needing a view of the sky, so I wouldn't consider it a great alternative but that could be the logic they're using. They could also just have beef with Sirius, no other brand is dropping satellite radio.

I had the same question but now after having one for a month I'd say it's not something you'd want to disable. It's really only noticeable in Sport mode but you can configure Individual mode to be Sport without the sound so the answer to your question is YES..

I think it should be close. You can check out high mileage Accords and CRVs from the last generation that had this system to see, and Facebook groups or Reddit pages should have great insight on long-term reliability.

Not a 1" screen difference, but rather 2". The base 7" screen Honda uses is a joke at this point, and I feel will not age well, as most modern cars are moving to larger screens.

While I've seen these on the road, they're just too low for me to comfortably enter and exit. That said, why in the world isn't a Hybrid offered in the HRV? Same platform.....
