Your jacket looks similar to the Helite adventure airbag jacket with the built in airbag. It is also available in gray. It also crosses fashion genres, and I feel like it would go well with a motorcycle or Vespa too. For those interested in airbag jackets, generally, the airbag is built in. Alpine’s activation record for street riding worries me, if Ryan F9’s stats are reliable, but the Helite’s airbags also provide much more coverage than Alpine. I have the Helite mesh air and the leather jacket. I love being able to just wear the jacket and I have an extra thing to take on and take off, so I wear it one of them on every ride. The Mesh air is light and breathes better, but I also like the weight of the leather one.

I'll say that the Gustin L2 does a really good job at around 20mph....though I suspect higher speeds would require armor like my summer jacket has. ;)

Hey, im looking foward to buy this jacket, you mentioned that you also bought the airbag, do you know if I have to keep in mind the 4cm gap that alpinestars recommends, or since this jacket is already compatible I can just for the size the best suits me without worrying about the gap needed? I read somewhere that this jacket has expansion slots especially to accommodate the airbag when deployed, but I'm not sure

😂 Excellent Review. If you want you Vespa GTS in, "Pure White", to sound quieter, just take the screen off. Or failing that you need to add a Double Blade like my 250 GTS has.

Trust me on this one, bug. -- I know folks here who would pay real American dollars to see you in a leather track suit! "If it's not Boeing, I'm not going!" Yes, Boeing's online merch store has that T-shirt...even in my "big boy" size...in HOT PINK...for sale! I think I'll go pull on a (non-Boeing) polo shirt, a pair of shorts, slip into a pair of Sadida sneaks and take Anita for a spin. And leave those damned ducks alone! What'd those ducks ever do to YOU? bug. a l'orange indeed!

Love your videos! If Mrs. Lady Bug wanted to get a first scooter what would you suggest?
@itsthebugshow8 ай бұрын
Thanks! Well, it depends. If Ladybug were getting, or had, her motorcycle license, I'd say look at a Liberty 150. Great little scooter at a decent price. If she didn't have her license and never intended to get it, I'd be recommending something like a used 50cc Honda Ruckus, which I'd probably end up riding all over the place. Those things look like so much fun. (at least in my state, a 50cc doesn't require a motorcycle license) If cost isn't a concern, then definitely either a 50cc or 150cc Vespa Primavera. I think the Primavera is about as close to the perfect scooter as you can get. But then there are the electric ones... Oh, how I want to try an electric one...

I just rode a friend’s Liberty that I am caring for for a while home today across Portland, then went and picked up my ‘64 Vespa, which I had left at work, and rode it home. What a difference! The Liberty is fun, but compared to my old Vespa or the modern Vespas I’ve ridden, much less comfortable and a lot less nimble. It’s bumpier, and the large wheels make it a lot less responsive and maneuverable. It is a noisier ride, too, and because the leg shield is more narrow, I was more exposed to the wind than on a 946 or GTS (although the one I am riding has a small windscreen and that may be what was pushing the wind and noise at me). I also found the cockpit ergonomics less comfortable than the GTS or 946s I’ve ridden. If it were me, and budget weren’t an issue, I’d pick a Primavera or Sprint over a Liberty, if going for something smaller.

For all those years of riding and hording tons of gear I've learned that "buy once and cry once" is the best thing in motorcycle gear.. Premium brands use durable materials and they have best tailored sizes (they actually fit to body).. Trust me, I have a ton of cheap shait to back me in this one.

Agreed. I have my share of cheep shait as well.

@itsthebugshow8 ай бұрын
Oh well, since you asked! Ok, picture the perfect day, on a motorcycle or on a scooter. It's one of the first nice days of the year. Day off. Fresh tank of gas in the Bonneville. So I drive to Astoria, on the Oregon Coast. I took the long way. The twisty way. Met a friend, dunked feet in Pacific, had fried wild salmon (don't tell my doctor) and got back on the road to head home. I was kinda miserable for the first half or so of the ride home. Just didn't have it in me. But at about the halfway point, I put on a random playlist on my Sena, and found bliss. Got back on the road and it's maybe an hour until sunset, and I've got an hour left... I'm sorta dancing in the saddle... I ride happy as a goddamned clam and got to the boring part - a long stretch of Highway 30 that's basically straight, nothing to see, and every now and then, dangerous intersections... A few minutes after I hit that stretch I saw three bikers about a quarter mile in front of me. They looked like something out of a movie. Black silhouettes as the sun started to set. Finally, after a bit, I caught up to them and it's three rough-and-tumble Harley guys. One of them was riding a chopper that looked like it was thrown together from lawnmower parts. It was one of the coolest motorcycles I've ever seen, and I'm not into choppers at all. It was more of a rat bike I guess. Anyway, I said to myself, dude, don't go anywhere near these guys. They'll eat you for dinner and leave your carcass for the buzzards. But then I realized I was just sorta acting on an age-old stereotype, so I twisted the throttle and crawled up behind them. I got a quick look back from the guy who looked like he was the leader. He didn't shoot me. Now, he didn't say "Hi, fine gentleman, how are you on this fine evening" or anything. But I sensed he was saying, "if you wanna ride with us for a bit, we will try not to do crimes while you're here..." So I rode with them. For miles. At one point we all pulled up to a stop light. It was me on the far left, then the three of them lined up next to me. I looked over at the leader and gave a nod, and sorta tried to say, with my body, "How you doing"? His response was basically, "Hey, we didn't kill you. Yet. Don't push it." On we rode. Into the sunset. After a while, quite frankly, I couldn't take their pace and I needed to feel some wind, so I got into the left lane, twisted the throttle and blew by them at a very illegal speed. I don't know why, but it made me smile for about 2 hours. Anyway. I finally get to the long bridge (St Johns) over the river with maybe an eighth of a tank of gas left, and while I was going over it I saw Mount Hood in the distance. Dark at the bottom. Pink at the top. The sun was saying goodbye, just skimming the snow layer. Then I rushed home because I had to pee. That's the story!
