I have the E30, it's worked great for me for about 4 years now.

My only issue with the Tiery was the tightness I felt in the sound. It's also missing the A-flat B-flat trill kill. I tried a couple of different styles of reeds but couldn't get the sound to ever blossom. However, with that said, it's an oboe that has a lot of features!

I like the MB much better, between the two. The sound is much nicer, more resonant.

Telemann Fantasia 2 in A minor right? Awesome! Flautist here (and going to music school for bassoon). Lovely review of both instruments. My interest in oboes has grown quite a lot. The MB model seems very promising.

I love the MB. My fav at TMEA a few years ago. I did some study in Italy though and my reeds are a bit Europeanized.

I've never used that Gillet key in 20 years. I didn't even know what it was for, and when I did, I decided I'd rather slide.

Mike Hopkins oh wow that’s great! Are Fosati Oboes popular in your part of ur world? Because I had only seen a few when I decided to make the video

@@OboeFiles Unfortunately not. I discovered the Tiery in 1992 as I preferred it to the Howarth. I still have that Oboe, I decided to buy the MB in in 2012 direct from Fossati in Paris. It's a shame that Oboists in the UK seem to prefer Howarths. I prefer the Fossati as the tone is much better.

My MB is the Thumbplate version as that is what I'm used to. (so is the Tiery)

Mike Hopkins interesting most players in the United States play Loreé though recently Howarths, marigaux and Fossati have had more of a following...I’m glad you found an oboe you like! What part of the UK do you play in?

Can you pretty pleaseeee (😇) do a review of the Bulgheroni Musa versus Opera model. I’m really curious. I’ve been hearing good things about Bulgheroni. I know some American players who really resonate with them.

Yinfente instruments (yes, of all sorts) are made in China. From their website I quote: “We are locate in Heng shui, He bei, China. Our master Mr Ma Work on musical instrument for over 40 years.”

We all get used to the little discrepancies in our regular instruments and get to the point where we adjust automatically. It can be different for other oboes. The Fossati has a nice sound though.
