The button does turn it on for lower powered devices; such as, Bluetooth Headphones, Apple Watch Chargers, and my Smart Gan i3 Rubik’s Cube. Double pressing the button will enter “trickle-mode” and turn a Green LED on to indicate that. To exit this mode you press the button once more. This will make the Anker have a constant output on devices that have such a low power signature that the power bank would normally auto off on. This feature is on other Anker power banks and is often never known to exist. Without this feature, certain devices would be seen as defective and/or extremely confusing that they haven’t held a charge after being plugged in for a hour or more to a rather fast and efficient Anker power bank.

Great review. I recently bought one of these and carved my name into it as I was listening to you. This is perfect for someone who is simplifying their go-kit. Me personally I manage a farm which has multiple properties, so being able to flip the plug out and slap it into a wall while I work is an essentiall efficiency. For 10,000mah this thing is heavy, but because t-mobile forced me to update my phone, my old 5v 10000mah batteries rob my phone of energy rather. The big reason I got this is because I also bought a 40,000mah battery from anker. The name of the game with new technology is mileage, I bought this charger on black Friday because it will be able to smart charge, which will extend life on all of my investments. Which in the long run is not a lot, considering it was $74 and I expect it to run 5+ years. Something to consider too is this charger, along with anker's other high capacity batteries, is able to operate 30w of laptop. This is perfect for me because I do digital art, so I bought a huion 16" pen display, which often run at 15watts, and a mele quieter3c fanless mini computer which runs at 10 watts and can be charged by a USB c cable from this battery, which means I essentially built a mobile computer that I can draw on with a pen, and only have one usb-c cable between the battery to quieter3c to huion 16" display. Something to consider

Here is something you might’ve mentioned. This is only a 65 W charger when it’s plugged into the wall. When it is used as a power bank, the power output drops dramatically. In fact, it drops so much that it is reasonable to wonder whether or not it’s fair to call it a power bank. When this charger is not plugged in to an outlet, and three devices are plugged into it, it doesn’t split 65 W between the three ports. It splits an anemic 15 W through the three ports. It would be hard to find a separate power bank that performs this poorly. I’m a fan of Anker products but it is hard to get excited about this one.

Ah sad. Are there any other combo units that are a battery bank and charger?
@timothylinn
@timothylinn 2 жыл бұрын
@@djw1091994 I honestly haven't looked, Don. I'm a little paranoid when it comes to USB chargers because I've read so many anecdotes of people who have fried their gear using some random off-brand budget charger they bought off Amazon. I tend to rely entirely on USB chargers when I travel and I can't afford to lose gear when I'm on the other side of the globe. If I lose my iPhone or iPad or ability to charge my camera batteries, I'm screwed. As a result, I try to stick with Anker when I can. So what to do? First, ask yourself if you need to charge more than one device at a time. With one device connected to USB-C, the 733 will output 30W-less than half of what is advertised but significantly better than a shared 15W. If size, weight, and cost aren't significant factors, you are better off going with a separate charger and power bank. Any of Anker's new 7-Series GaNPrime Power Banks are _significantly_ more capable than the 733. Unfortunately, there isn't another 10k Power Bank in the GaNPrime lineup. They are all much larger with higher capacities. There are other non-GaNPrime 10k PowerBanks available from Anker but understand that the 10k capacity rating is a theoretical one based on the capacity of the internal batteries. The real world capacity varies depending on the device's efficiency. For example, the Anker PowerCore 10000 Redux with 25W PD is actually 6600 in practice. The missing 3400 is lost to inefficiency. That is why Anker makes such a big deal about GaNPrime's higher efficiency-above 90% if I recall correctly. The bottom line is that I don't see a better option _from_ _Anker_ for a PowerBank with a 10k capacity, even in a separate device. If I wanted to minimize size and weight and didn't need high output to charge multiple devices at once, I would go for the 733. But only if I needed it now. These devices will continue to get smaller and more capable with every generation, and their internal batteries begin to deteriorate as soon as they are made, so there is no upside to buying early.

There is the older Anker Powercore Fusion 10000, but I don’t think it is too much smaller. There are smaller banks but you have to take a couple things into consideration. Some slim power banks need another charger and cable to charger them; whereas, this device has a direct plug into a outlet built in. Furthermore, if you get a smaller rated power bank you have to think of things like an iPhone 14 Pro Max has a battery rated at 4323mAh and this battery has 10000mAh. This directly correlates with how many times you can charge your phone. You also loose some of that while charging. Hope that helps.

In my case it was an utterly disappointment. I usually don't have access to a plug some times for a long time. Have the 737 power bank and I love it. Can charge my phone drone, accesories camera, Mac, etc quite fast and I can continue with my day. When I saw the 733 power bank I was like wow! Exactly what I need. I already have another gan charger so I thought it would be like a 735 charger with a 737 power bank combined. But it wasn't. They only charge fast as long as they are plugged if not you get around 10-20 watts, not even enough to charge a MacBook or xps laptop. As an added concern I think mine has lost a 20% capacity in the last weeks. I guess since I use it as a charger it keeps trying or charging the internal power bank to 100 which deteriorated the power bank itself. Any way I'm just disappointed. Having that said I can't recommend the 737 power bank enough. Way too expensive, but if you are a photographer, do drone videos, or basically have to work on the road this is a must to have.

Great Video, most phones have over 25w nowadays. Oppo has 65w and higher also Xiaomi has 65w and up. Samsung can do 45w well they say that but most only max out at 25w, it's all over the place though, my 65w Oppo charger doesn't work on my Xiaomi which is meant to do 65w as well. And same with the opposite, my Oppo doesn't fast charge on the 65w Xiaomi charger

If it helps anyone, I got a Macbook Pro M1 Ultra that uses a 95W charger and when I connected my Anker 733 through USB C with the magsafe cable, if the computer is ON (in use), the mac won't charge (even when connected to 120V) but will use energy from the battery pack instead. However, if the mac goes to sleep, the Anker 733 (when plugged to 120V) will charge the mac. So nice to charge mac at night and as a backup battery when in use.

This doesn’t charge iPad Pro in full speed (when unplugged). This is only good for phones when unplugged. Therefore, I don’t see the point of having a big brick around. I need a battery pack that can charge, iPhone and iPad Pro both at the same time.

Can you tell me if this pack can act as a UPS for a usb camera? So run the camera off of this device plugged into a wall, if we lose house AC power the camera doesn't shut off because it runs off the battery (automatically) then when AC power comes back, the pack seamlessly switches back to using AC and charges the internal battery in parallel.

I haven't tested it like that but the battery is small I would be a larger UPS for that.

Really bad for the battery just keeping it at 100% charge for the vast majority of the time. Battery banks should be kept at 30-80% when not in use and just charged up when needed. Good idea in theory but in practice this product is fundamentally flawed
