Has the same features as The Dekunu One I had. I found that it was a lot of stuff that while cool, wasn’t needed or after the new wore off, didn’t need. I went back to my Alti 2 Atlas.

Skydive Vibes it was cool a few jumps, then I found myself not using it. The Dekunu has really skewed numbers in regards to free fall times and such. It’s very inaccurate on the numbers, but altitude is spot on.

I owned this altimeter it WAS REALLY NICE!...only problem is you drop it ONCE and the pressure sensor goes defective.....i returned it and got an alti 2 due to its fragility

Have ypu tried moving x2 to annew phone once you have paired it with a phone. I jumped with x2 and had my logs on it. Moving to a new phone, it refused to pair till i factory reset it. I lost all the logs on my x2. No cloud yet 2 years later. Just in case someone is planning to buy the x2, something to be aware of. Logs on cloud sounds like a great idea to me now.

The Aon2 and Ares are not similar. The Aon2 is more like a computer on your arm and stock a lot more data. It is a bigger for sure where the Ares will be more similar to a Viso except tougher. Where are you located? I offer free shipping in US and Canada if you are interested. ;)

Hi Catherine, I am currently in my AFF training and my trainers are recommending buying gear. I asked them about this devise and they told me that the battery life is a big draw back. You have been using this device for a year now. What are your thoughts?

I have never had issues with the battery. I simply charge it before everyday of jump. However as a beginner, I wouldn't recommend you this device. It is an advanced one with a bit too much data for someone that is starting. I would recommend a Viso II from LB Altimeters. This is surprising to mee that they are recommending you to buy gear at your stage. If I were you I would wait until after you get your A license.

Hi Catherine! I'm considering to buy my first altimeter, and I want to invest so I don't have to sell or switch my material later. Considering your experience with classical altimeter like the Viso (which seems to be the best seller ) and the Aon2 X2, what will be your choice? The price is not my concern for this purchase, as I just want reliable material to cover my own life.

It can depend on your experience level too. If you are somewhat of a beginner, I would recommend the Viso II or an Ares II (more resistant). Keep in mind that those types of equipment keep a lot of their value on the market so even if you had to sell it you wouldn't have any problem doing so. The X2 offers much more data that might not be necessary if you are starting out. Moreover, as you evolve in the sport, you can not be sure of what will interest you most and depending on the discipline your needs in type of gear may differ.

I'm personally partial to the waterproofing of the X2, it's screen is bigger and the body has a lower profile vs the Dekonu One. More so, both units are fairly new and still maturing. While both are seeing rapid improvements via Firmware updates, the hardware of course is fixed to what you got when you bought it , and feel it's an area of advantage for the X2. IThe X2 is manufactured to a workmanship standard of IPC-A-610 Class 2 - for most consumer electronics, one is lucky for it to be manufactured to the standard at all, let alone Class 2. What's amazingly impressive though is their customer service; AO(N)2 is unparalleled, period regardless of what industry or purpose. They have a FB group where technical matters are discussed and they are extremely responsive to email, surprisingly, I"ve received very complete and thorough responses on a few occasions very late in the UK night or even on a Saturday and Sunday (not something I'd expect at all, but certainly made me feel great about my purchase! I"ve had the pleasure of seeing the Dekonu One in action and feel it too is a fantastic product, so it's not like you're dodging any bullets regardless of which you choose; I just feel the X2 is however that much better personally... my 2 cents; come join the FB group and learn about the product from actual users to see for yourself...

I learned they both can be for new jumper although I would wait for you to be solo or even A licensed to get one of these. Get used to read analog altimeter first, it's an important learning curve. ;)

I didn't get to try that one yet. I did compare both of them according to their spec in another video. (linked at the end of that one). They are pretty similar but a difference is that the Dekunu is hosting its data on a cloud. This can be a blocker for some people. ;)

No you can transfer the data on the app and erase the data from the jumps from your unit. But you don't loose your jump count. ;)
