Very cool! I've also heard great things about this pair from other reviewers

Nice video ! Actually I sold my PX8 and went for those as I like sound quality better for my taste. I have been using PX8 for 5 months and during last month I was comparing both of them A-B, and chosen PX7 S2 as the one I will keep. Completely agree with point about wired vs wireless. It would be good to see LDAC or aptx lossless in future generations.

Nice video! My question, the px7 s2 or xm4 from sony, especially when we talk about the sound And the negative points about the sound of the px7 s2 that you talk about, px7 s2e make ist lot better? I would very happy when you drop a video like these for the px7 s2e

Thank you! As for the Px7 S2e… unfortunately that will be delayed. I’ve had some costs come up, and unless I can borrow a pair, it’s out of my budget for now. (I don’t like buying with the intent to return: it feels dishonest.) As for the Px7 vs XM4, Px7, all day long for sound. But the Px7 S2e do have the upgraded chip, so I do expect an upgrade.

PX7 S2 by far are the better headphones in terms of sound.

Great Review, very informative! 👍Are there currently better alternatives in the €200 range?🤑 I bought the B&W Px7 S2 because I was looking for HIFI headphones for little money. In Germany, the B&W are currently available for 200€, Sennheiser is just under 300€. In many other tests from the HIFI sector (online), the headphones are always placed ahead of the Sennheiser headphones. The workmanship of the B&W is visibly and noticeably better. The sound may be better in some areas with the Sennheiser, but for me it's about the overall package. Before I make a purchase, I ask myself the question: Has the company made an effort and thought of everything, or have they only concentrated on the sound? To me, the Sennheiser headphones look low-budget with their minimalist design. The padding doesn't feel high-quality either. I also prefer button control to touch control. In any case, I'm happy with the B&W, even if I myself sometimes realize that there's still room for improvement.

Over in the US, the Momentum 4 and the Px7 S2 were selling for about the same price recently, hence my comparison. But given your numbers - 200 vs 300 - I would choose the Px7 S2 as well! To answer your question directly, I don’t think there are better alternatives at that price right now, unless you start looking at older models (for example, the Master & Dynamic MW65, which I’ve seen go as low as US$186 recently, but usually sell closer to $300).

Great review. I currently own the S2e and just bought the original PX. I ended up using the PX more because they fit me more snugly (I have normal size head - I think), the genuine leather ear cups feel nicer and generate less heat, and the ANC is much better than the S2e… I feel many of these companies are lowering the quality and mostly using marketing to sell their new products. The PX clearly look and feel more luxurious and well made. The only negative is they don’t sound as good or open as the S2e but the difference really isn’t that big in my opinion. What’s your thought?

My PX broke after 5 years of use today. I've super glued it back together but i know it's only a temporary solution. I was looking for reviews of the S2/S2e to replace it but now i might try to find an original px somewhere. The only bad thing I can say about the PX is that the leather seperated after 3 years but that was easy to fix.

Great Review. Are there alternatives with equal or higher sound quality that are also unproblematic when using glasses but that heat up less and that u think are suitable for wearing at the GYM? Appreciate your recommendations🙏
@NorbReviews5 ай бұрын
Oh this is a tough question. Equal or higher sound quality AND good for the gym? No. But here’s what I might recommend: : 1. Get the Sennheiser Momentum 4 for general use. 2. Get the JBL Tune 710BT for the gym. Link: amzn.to/3RkLG5O I like the 710bt for the gym a lot: it’s what I use (either that or the SoundPeats Space) and has *SHOCKINGLY* good sound. The clamping force is also perfect, IMHO, but I have run into some minor annoyances with connectivity. The concern I have with the Sennheiser is the ear heat: it’s a problem, but if you just use them at home or for travel, it’s not that big of an issue. That said, it’s perfect for people with glasses. An alternative to the Sennheiser is the Bose QuietComfort Ultra (which is on special right now for about $100 less than normal: amzn.to/3RnvJM5 ). But I don’t think the sound is as good as the Sennheiser, and *maybe* on par with the PX7. (PX7 might be a bit better.) The comfort is unbeatable, though, even better than the PX7, which was one of my favorite things about that headphone. Unpopular opinion in the audiophile world, but I like the AirPods Max, so I’ll float that as an option if you use iPhone, but it’s more expensive than any of the ones mentioned above. Anyway, I hope this helps. Best of luck!

@@NorbReviews Thank you very much for your detailed reply!🙏😌👍 Thx for your input regarding the gym, sounds promising. Regarding non-gym phones: As i use android and pc, the apple one is out (but yeah, otherwise, might have been anoption). Actually, the momentum 4 is what I had envisioned initially, but the connectivity issues, the fact that can only choose between anc and transparency mode, and the issue of the headphones heating up (i do very extensive listening sessions at times) have set me on a quest for a better alternative. Unfortuntaley, the Px7+8 also have their issues (leather coming off after a few months only + heat), sony has a muddy base, and unfortuntaley, I don't like the look of the focal. I am contemplating on saving up and getting myself a pair of b&o h95, however, as i listen to hip-hop exclusively, not sure if they are a good chouce for that and worth the hefty price. Your review on the mezze sounded very (!) enticing, especially with regard to listening to hip-hop, but 2K is unfortunately definitely above my budget. So, the choice regarding headphones for the non-gym use remains challenging😂

Hi mate As a centuries long lastintg apple boy fan i had a lot/ all apple earphones. From the beginning to airpods max. All devices starting to have technical issues after 2-3 years. Creepy sounds, bluetooth interruptions, and so on. Not fitting my ears well. As on the asperger syndromes I need ANC in my daily life. Apple never helped me with my technical isssues. Sorry, too late, blablaba… So now I had to give back my airpods max, cause they are starting to have the same crackling noise issues like my in ear buds. I choose the B&W Px7 s2e. Better sound quality and the ANC ist just perfect for me as an autistic adult. Wearing comfort is much better as the overweight Airpods max. No problems with ANC, the earcushings are way better than the apple airpods max. So, sometimes i forget to turn on my ANC…maybe a little bit too mall for my ears. But in comparison to the much higher priced apple Airpod max, they have the better sound, much more comfort and quite the same ANC without the cabin pressure feeling. I highly prefer the B&W over the Airpods max. Sorry english is may father language not my mother language. Cheers and a have a good time, life is too short for bad music and lousy beer.

What headphones under $500 do you recommend? I am looking. I recently got the Sony XM 4 they still work, but I got these because nice solo pros have been falling apart and they are the best sounding headphones. I’ve had so far I would like a very detailed resounding sound vocals. What premium headphones do you recommend that are really a work of art under 500 bucks?
@NorbReviews2 ай бұрын
Hey, So I’m actually going to be doing a set of videos on that (this will be a longer project, so expect that later this year). But to answer quickly: Assuming you mean wireless, the Px7S2e, Sennheiser Momentum 4, AirPods Max, Bose QuietComfort Ultra are the ones I’d recommend that are newer. I’ve done videos on all of these. (I know people will hate me for the AirPods Max recommendation, but I think there’s a lot of bias out there. But it’s definitely Apple Only.) If you’re ok with looking at stuff that’s a bit older, the Momentum 3, Bose NC700, and Master & Dynamic MW65. (Actually, the MW65 is probably my top recommendation for what you’ve mentioned here: their tuning is fantastic and the beryllium drivers are something special. And I’m literally wearing them as I type this.) The older HifiMan Divas might also do well, and they’re having a clearance sale, so you may be able to get them at a really great price. Finally, consider the Audeze Maxwell. The only downside with this one is that it’s *heavy*, but they are one headphones that does wired, wireless, music, and gaming *very* well. Finally with wireless, if you can find one used, the Focal Bathys would be a good option, but I don’t think I’ve seen them under $500. If you’re willing to go for wired headphones or earbuds then you get a LOT more bang for your buck. I’m a fan of the Meze Alba IEMs, for example, or the HiFiMan Ananda. But if we go this direction, the list gets *LONG*. (Sennheiser HD650 or HD6xx immediately come to mind, but if you’ve been using old Bose headphones, you may miss the bass.) If you’re willing to go with used, this list opens WAY up: you might be able to find something like the Focal Elex for this (and actually, looking now, Headphones.com has them for $499 in final clearance).

If it does, it’s not advertised. But then, a lot of companies don’t, for some reason. Further, I see no indication that it does LE audio, which is a requirement for LC3. I’ll continue looking around, but if it does, the capability is well hidden.

Deciding between these and the Momentum 4s, or to just wait until Apple releases the AirPods Max 2 next year with USB-C. Great review!

Thank you! I can’t make any predictions on the next APMs (I’ve heard rumors, but nothing concrete). I’ve seen the M4’s for about $250 recently, and tend to prefer the sound on those, but the comfort/build on these. Everything else is a pretty close match. If you can wait, I don’t see any harm in waiting.

If your goal is sound quality, m4 all the way ! If you like the style of the s2, don't buy them, buy the s2E instead. They sound more fuller, more detailed, more bass. So, hope this help :)

I have the Momentum 4 (M4) headphones for a little over a year. They were great at first, but I'm looking to ditch them now. My use cases are music (duh), online meetings (zoom, google meet, amazon chime), blocking out noise at home and on a plane. Currently my M4 have become problematic, even with latest firmware. There are the issues I'm having now: 1) they will sometimes turn themselves off during a meeting. 2) they mute the microphones on their own during meetings 3) left earphone almost cuts out completely now at times 4) noise cancellation doesn't hold up on a plane, jet noise keeps breaking through with lots of fluttering. With dynamic ANC on or off. So really bummed about the M4 headphones as they started off great. Now looking to drop another $300 or so on something else already.
