Just picked this up today. It's my first hobby-grade rc car, so I don't really have anything to compare it too. I was torn between this, kraton and the typhon. I figured this was the best choice since it's balanced for both on/off road. Again, I'm a total noob in the rc world so that seemed like the best option. Very, very happy with my choice. I'm absolutely blown away with the performance. Started out on 3s, which was awesome, then switched over to 6s... Shit got serious. You basically have a mini race quad. This thing is an absolute monster on 6s. Overall, I didn't know what to expect (speed, battery life, handling, etc) All i have to say is this car greatly exceeded my expectations. Prob the best $500 I've ever spent. Highly recommend getting into this hobby.

Absolutely nailed it. 100% agree with your review. Broken a few parts on mine, and here in the states it did dry up a bit while the acquisition by Horizon was being completed. Now however, even the LHS is starting to stock parts, and vehicles (bought a V# Kraton from them) now for the Arrma brand. Super excited about this, as these truly are the best bashers on the market in my opinion. Great review!

I work at a hobby shop that distributes a wide variety of vehicles, and where Im located its super easy to get access to arrma parts. We usually keep quite a few parts in stock, but a lot of the time they dont sell because arrma cars just dont break. However if we need to order a part, its usually in within about 2 days (unless its on back order of course) so if we dont have anything in stock for my Talion, i can get it in super quick and easy.

Hey man, you would know about this more than anybody else but i'm having trouble deciding between this and the kraton. In the end im going to have it with traditional dish truggy wheels and a traditional style truggy body and I want it to have decent ground clearance. Would the talion be too low slung to compete with a traditional truggy? Or would the kraton be more suitable? Just wish there was more shock mounting options. The talion looks speed-bred the rear shock are really almost laid out. Any advice would be great.

Nice review, I didn't have much interest in this car since I already have a Kraton now, but it would be nice having a similar platform assigned for different purposes (also doesn't hurt that you could service and maintain your fleet from roughly the same pool of parts). I might have to reconsider, I want to explore other types first, but it's a definite maybe, can't argue with the value though.

Caleb Reeve hello another 🇨🇦 here. I would definitely try out an Arrma Talion they handle so well. They are fast and powerful it will power threw grass like nothing. Really though if your looking for an ultimate truck for your acreage a Xmaxx is an amazing truck that can do it all with power and speed and it’s tough! But ya the Talion gets my vote or the Kraton would be great probally also
@calebreeve86946 жыл бұрын
How about the outcast, would that fit my needs? I’ve heard it has amazing tires
@AB-80X6 жыл бұрын
Caleb Reeve What do you mean by amazing tyres? It depends on what you need them to do. Sounds like the Kraton is more what you're looking for. It will run the grounds you describe and jump much better than the Talion or even the Outcast. The Outcast is not that well balanced for jumping as it tumbles pretty easily, and the Talion simply do not have the suspension for it. The Talion rides surprisingly low, thus will not be that great in grass. It sounds like you need sort of a jack-of-all-trades and the Kraton is exactly that. It will even run well with the wheels from the Nero and Outcast. Just install a smaller pinion. As far as the Xmaxx go? Stay far, far away from that massively overpriced hunk of junk. You'll need to often replace the steering servo, the motors and esc's burn out, and the bearings are terrible. If you want to go largescale, look into the new Redcat R5 or Losi XL-E. They both come with much better electronics than the horrid Xmaxx.
@calebreeve86946 жыл бұрын
My dad has an X-Maxx, and he loves it. It is just out of my price range. I’m just worried that if I get a kraton, I am essentially buying an e-revo
@AB-80X6 жыл бұрын
Caleb reeve Well, there are of course similarities, but that goes for the Outcast as well. They are all monster trucks, with the Outcast having a shorter wheelbase than the E-Revo and the Kraton having one that is longer. The Outcast is taller than the E-Revo and the Kraton is lower. If your jumps are not too big, the Talion can of course work for you. It's a shame the Nero has been discontinued, because that would have been a perfect fit. But at the end of the day, all three will work one way or the other. None of them are exactly like the E-Revo.
@stevewest72606 жыл бұрын
Noticed you always comment on the connections. XT-90 vs. T-plug Saying the Xt-90 is better. Correct me if I'm wrong. Look at both connections, there both 10 gauge copper your soldering to. Buti Bader i have the Kraton v3, Typhon V2 and Outcast V3.. if I could do it over again I’d get the Talion over the Kraton any day. The Talion can be a basher or speed, I’d def go with the Talion trust me.
@AB-80X6 жыл бұрын
First thing's first. What surface do you run on most? This is what determines what will work the best. Also, what kind of bashing do you like? Park bashing etc. or do you do bashing with a lot of jumps. do you like long wheelies , tumbling the rc around and so on? As a pure fun basher you can tumble around, I find the Outcast to be the better RC. And if you want to go out and do some speed runs, simply get some Talion wheels and a big pinion. While I'll agree with Vas that the Kraton is a very nice jack-of-all-trades that does many things pretty good, I think it's a bit like a Swiss army knife. It does many things pretty good, but nothing really well. I personally think the Kraton is best at home as a park basher where the Outcast and Nero are much better as rough, hard bashers. And as I said, if you want to go 70+ with an Outcast or Nero on occasion, get the wheels for the job and a big pinion. Both trucks are definitely capable of it. At the end of the day, you need to look at them and think about what will make you smile. This is as much about looks and emotion as anything else. A stadium truck might be the dogs for many things, but I hate the look, and they don't give me the "fizz". My most treasured Arrma? The Typhon. I simply like buggies more than anything. It might not do park bashing on grass as well as a Kraton as it will eat up the batteries and run hot, and it's definitely more challenged on the big jumps and a BMX track than a Nero or Outcast, not to mention that it does not do wheelies particularly well. But I don't care, it looks like a buggy is supposed to look and it just makes me smile. And take it out in an area with hardpack and medium sized jumps, and it'll leave the rest of the 6S Arrma cars for dead. Oh, and as far as stability goes? It will give the Talion a run for its money when it comes to stability and top end speed. As a final word of comfort. Don't worry, it's a non-issue that will solve itself over time. Before you know it, you'll have a second and a third Arrma 6S. You'll end up like many of us, with different rc cars for different purposes.

Uhm it's a 2018 model. How can that have been out for ages seeing that we are still in 2018? Here's a well known fact for a lot of us, but apparently you missed it. If you want to do a proper review, you need to use things for more than a month. You need to live with it and experience it. So many reviews in everything from magazines to youtube videos, are not worth the time due to the fact that they are too shallow. You don't learn much about an RC and its support etc after a bloody week or two. A good review is not about being first, it's about being objective and thorough.
