Fantastic doomy metal, as you say many Candlemass references, these guys are badass !! Their first one is really killer as well !! Pete if you haven’t checked out their label mates Blood Incantation yet, you definitely should !! Their latest, Hidden History of the Human Race is epic cosmic death metal, even better than their monstrous 2026 debut Starspawn !!!v

I've heard bits and pieces of it, loved what I heard, so it's on order and should be at Casa Pardo shortly!

Awesome, think you are going to dig their material A LOT ! Look forward to a SoT review as Hidden was easily my favorite death metal release of 2019 ! Also, Starspawn was released in 2016 not 2026 ha.

@@GMHG777 Maybe they're so good they're already the best death metal act of 2026!! \m/ \m/ ; D

Frank Chin used to be in black thrash band Vektor who I'm a big fan of.

Good call on this one. I might like it as well or even better than the last Candlemass. While I was listening to it as I was cleaning my car the nice Amazon man brought me a few new CDs including Eloy, Opeth and Riverside. Gonna be a good Saturday.

Hi Pete, very interesting. I am definitely a Candlemass fan, at least of the debut album and those with Messiah Marcolin on vocals. This sounds really good.

I'm a huge doom fan (& Candlemass, obviously). This Crypt Sermon album is pretty damn good and I probably like the debut even more.

Apologies for diverting the attention of this band you're featuring but have you done any features on porcupine tree yet ? & if not will you at some point in the future ?

I think this album is pretty good. But the best doom metal album I heard last year is by a band called Fvneral Fvkk. I know...It's a awful band name. But their album Carnal Confessions is great melodic doom with wonderful production.

Great album. Pete I know you don't like this but if it's not on your list to review go and listen to Tanith - In Another Time released in 2019. Amazing album, female and male vocals with crazy good progy guitar passages and catchy songs. You need to wait for the guitar passages in each song but they are well worth it. You can listen to the whole album on Bandcamp. tanithnyc.bandcamp.com/album/in-another-time

I heard a lot about this album and I tried it a few times but in the end I just couldn't get into it.
