The RP-55 could be used to plug in directly in the line input of the mixer (part of a PA setup). But most users use it between the guitar and the guitar-amp. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us

Hi! What would you recommend between this model and the Vox Stomplab G1 or other similar multi-effects pedals for under $100 to go in front of a Blues Junior Amp. Which one sounds less digital and is good quality? I'm mostly interested in the Delay, Drive, Chorus, Tremolo effects. Thanks!

Hi, I'm probably using a Marshall set really clean. Try to start with a new empty preset and select only a Blackface amp. Find the sound you like with it and only after that add effects. You can also try switching OFF the cabinets. As always start with the minimum of amps and effects to get the best results. What amp are you using BTW? If you don't like the amp sound on its own the RP55 won't improve it. Clean amps like Marshall and Fender should work well.

João Maia I got one 7 years ago. The best way to get a decent tone (in my opinion) is to set high the patch volume (I tend to set volume on 90 for cleans and 75-80 for overdrive and distorted sounds), and then set the Master volume in an appropiate level. The sound gets more body and armonics and the distortions get creamier to my ears. I hope it will help.

I'm a beginner, looking to get more interesting sounds out of my sub 100€ guitar and sub 50€ 12W practice amp. One of my local music shops has a RP90 in stock for 80€ / 95$. Given that its nearly 2018 now, is the ten-year-old technology in these units getting a bit dated now? RP90 has a Footpedal (for wah) and RP55 does not. A better comaparison would be RP90 vs RP70, because RP70 is RP90 without the footpedal (wah). I believe RP55 has little bit less features and costs less than the RP70 and the RP90. Pricewise it is: RP55 < RP70

Leonardo Sanchez I have the RP70 and its very much the same it only has more presets. But much of the presets are useless anyway so matters little if you go for the 70 ... EXCEPT :) one huge difference! The very reason I bough the 70 was it comes with the power supply the 55 doesn't. But I LOVE this multi pedal. I played all my life acoustic so for me this pedal is opening doors to a new world and introducing me to different effects and different amp models, etc ... Now I know which effect pedal not to buy and which one I will most definitely use. Great teaching/learning tool and it sounds SO GOOD on the headphones !

Which amplifier did you use in this review?
@bordonbert9 жыл бұрын
Thanks Harry, you sold me. 24bit is a big no brainer improvement and cheap to implement. I've often wondered why it isn't universal nowadays. I've recently gone to a H&K valve amp from an original Vox Valvetronix Blue and I miss the comprehensive voicing setup a lot. This has that same sort of functionality. Those Korg/Vox blues ran rings around any other modellling amps around at the time, I tried them all and would not have paid half price for any of them. I am hoping that the technology is a bit better implemented in other pieces of kit nowadays and I have to admit, this sounds awesome when you use it. When you consider the price it's a steal!

I was looking into getting a noise gate pedal to remove the horrible hum and buzz I get from my amp, when I saw that this has a noise gate + other effects. Does anyone know if the noise gate is any good on this?
@nicks48027 жыл бұрын
Tom T-C this noise gate sounds like an NS-2 with the threshold at 9:00 and the decay at 8:00. If you've ever used an NS-2 improperly, it means that it isn't actually gating the noise when it needs to. It gates sound a half second after you would've wanted it to. Tones come through scratchy and messy when it eases up on the signal, too. The only noise it actually gates in my opinion, is the noise that comes through when you aren't playing. All of the sound you'll try to get rid of will come back the second you strike a chord
@nicks48027 жыл бұрын
Perhaps the problem isn't the him from your amp, bit hum from you pickups? If its pickup hum, thats when you'll need a noise gate. Having a nosey amp just means you've got a noisey amp. You can gate your signal, but it'll only help so much if its actually your amp thats loud, not the guitar. After all, you signal goes GUITAR>NOISE GATE>AMP. *NOT* GUITAR>AMP>NOISE GATE
