I look at one of the 2013 5.0's yesterday. Didn't look under the hood, didn't start it up, didn't open the trunk or look at the back. I just sat in it and I fell in love! what an amazing car! Ford has really proved them self over the past few years

She's perfect. The retro styling evolves from the classic '65 to the big mach's of the early 70's. Love the improved lines, the late 60's daring color, the sequential indicators and the optional glass top. Ford has improved this car since 2005, and I doubt it can get any better for 2014. The 2013 is the car I want ;)

Just picked up a new 2013 GT myself. In my opinion Ford has really nailed it with this generation. The 5.0 is a great engine.

these for mustang GT's are truly amazing cars to drive. we never cease to be amazed when we take a customer for their first test ride. they are 'stooopid fast', and handle like a high performance car should.

i love this car. my older cousin has one of theses. it drives great. the shock is amazing. i love the new design. i was very happy when he took me for a quick drive in the car. this car is my favorite modern muscle car. His is red and it has black leather seats. anybody thinking about getting this car should you will love it.

one of the new features of the 2013 mustang they didnt mention is the mustang projection from under the side view mirrors. When the door opens, a white projected mustang can be visible on the ground which I think is COOL

When Ford was developing the Boss engine they found that the oil squirters were not necessary and that they actually caused somewhat of a windage effect on the back of the pistons which robbed some power. On high hp applications most engine builders already block these using the FRPP squirter plugs used on the boss.

Great review. Just picked up a 2013 Deep Impact Blue Metallic GT (Stick) and LOVE IT!. I didn't realize they ditched the oil squirters in the 2013 Coyote.... Hmm. Trying not to get too crazy while breaking it in but this thing is livid. :) I quite like it.

i had an 03 cobra and a 06 mach1 conversion, both sexy cars but the cobra was just intimidating! Wish they still made a stang that was affordable with that performance

I'm a chevy guy, and as much as I don't really like the new gen Mustang (thankfully they fized the taillights), but Ford has really got it together with the GT. All the extra features really set it above the Camaro, even though I love the SS and ZL1.

a live axle is a solid rear end and IRS is independent rear suspension. if you look at a truck or any old muscle car and look at the rear drive axle its always 1 solid piece thats what the mustang has. people complain because the suspension isn't as good as an IRS. but the benefit of it is its cheaper so the mustang can be sold for less.

honestly, I don't really care much about looks too much, it's the performance of the car that does it for me, I like the challenger and camaro too, but the performance/engineering aspect of the mustang is greatest. It's light, its nimble and well-poised thats why I like it as my favorite

the mustang has always been a popular choice for drag racing and a solid rear end wont blow apart like an IRS. plus the set up on the mustang is good enough it doesn't need an IRS because 90% of people who buy it wont know the difference.

0:59 FYI those are not DRL. Daytime Running Lights are meant to shine brightly in sunshine, enhancing your car's visibility to oncoming traffic. In the Mustang, they aren't bright; barely visible if staring at the car on sunny days.

that's a good point with the "seeing over 20 a day" but that's also a reason companies like americanmuscle exist, so that each Mustang can be uniquely styled (or engine-tuned) to be unique, so that you no longer see 20 just like yours.

Imagine having the 2013 Mustang, 3.7L cyclone V6, put out more HP than the stock 5.0L coyote V8's. That's exactly what happened when I stuck a ProCharger supercharger and BBK headers onto my 2013 Mustang V6. After dyno tuning, she now puts down 411 WHP (483 HP at the crank) / 336 TQ. I love smoking stock and slightly modded 5.0 Mustangs at the track. Of course there are a bunch of other mods on the car, thanks to American Muscle and Justin's videos. 😉

I bought an '08 GT with low miles and perfect condition back in January for $16k. I'll be trading up to this in a few years once I can find the same kind of deal. Make I'll go test drive one of these though just to compare.

10 years later and still this was the best modern Mustang generation ever. I slightly prefer the '11 and '12, front end, but the '13 and '14 tail is better. The s550 is great but not as good looking as the late S197 IMO, and that's coming from a '15 Gt owner.

It seems to be a very popular thing with car critics to turn off the traction control. I myself see no reason to turn it off, its there for a reason. Besides like any feature of a car turning things on and off can break them eventually.

i like the new tail lights but the front end looks less agressive and the headlights look pretty crappy, and i thought ford was gana change out the live axle for independent suspension? but i like how they can keep a live axle and still beat all of its competition and still ride fairly smoothly

Yes it does. That is part of making powdered metal rods. All powdered metal rods must be struck @ hot forging temps. GT rods, which are stock, are sinter-forged. The ZR1 rods are from Corvette. Camaro dont get titanium rods. And the ZR1 rods are aftermarket, made by Pankl Racing. Boss rods do not need peening, Manley uses a much better design &material. Plus they dont have to machine the shank down. GT rods dont need peening either because they dont need machining either.

Yeah... don't like the hood louvers, the headlights or the green color. Love the bump in power. Even though I'm a Mustang guy, I don't dig any of the changes to the front of the car, so I'd probably look for a 2011-2012-- or wait until the all new model coming in a couple of years.

For those of you who are bashing the “gotta have it green color”, its music to my ears. Just ordered one with track pack and recaro and anyone who has been following what is valued the best over the years, is the color that first came out as ugly and now worth much much more than the typical black, blue, red, etc. Don’t get me wrong, trading in a race red and I love it, but GHIG is more subtle and refined IMO…
