Thanks for watching Glenn, the figures are so much more detailed than the cars so I wanted to show what the resin was capable of.

Another interesting 3D printing video from you James 👍🏼 wow those figures are beautiful with all that detail that was printed out. Well done 👍🏼

Thank you Karl, to be honest printing another engine or body just wouldn’t show off the capability of the 8k resin. I needed something with very fine detail. These figures do just that.

Thanks so much Carl! I’m really trying to branch out to new and interesting stuff on the channel. One thing for sure, you never know what’s coming next on the channel 😂

Great looking figures. I use abs like for about 8 months, and I like it but with skin sues cropping up I’m printing with tge 8k water wash you recommended. I like it so far, but the one drawback I see is how brittle it is. I’ll just have to see how tiny parts respond when taking them off supports. Thanks for the review James.

I’ve had good luck reducing the diameter of my light supports down to 2.0. It gives me a red warning if I go lower than that. I’ll keep experimenting. I’d like for the supports to be as thin as possible which means less damage to the model.

As much as I hate to admit it, I've liked this series so much I bought a Saturn 4 and some water wash 8k resin the other day. Big upgrade from my Voxelab Proxima 6. Can't wait to get it set up and try some things. I have a couple of prints that I have been trying out, with so / so luck so far. We will see how it goes!

In my experience the printer is very easy to use. Make sure you run a print test - I recommend 2.4 sec exposure time to ensure you’re getting a quality print.

@@ScaleModelExperiment thanks for the heads up. I need all the info I can get! 🤣 I still have my test file for my Proxima. I was going to load it up first and see how it went.

Denatured alchohol works great with the standard 8k resin. My prewash in a tupperware usually gets it 99% clean. The resin seperates very well from it too meaning it should be easy to clean/filter out and reuse it multiple times. The smell doesn't bother me though and sometimes I think about switching to water wash resin just for the convenience.

Thanks for your input Joe, I don’t know what it is about alcohols that really turns me off but I can’t stand it. I have tested Elegoo’s 8k water wash and it prints amazing. I especially like the vanilla and now smoky white colors.

Thanks for watching Tomcat👍 I do not print commercially, just for fun and reviews for now 😁. I’m sure a Google search will find some commercial printers if you want these figures.

Asuka and Rei?
@ScaleModelExperiment3 ай бұрын
Rei is the short hair girl and Asaka is the long hair girl. They are from a manga anime Evangelion.

@@ScaleModelExperiment Yes! I have several Asuka figures. She was the very first tsundere character I saw.

I’m not gonna lie I really don’t care much for the detergent, I used it for 3 months and I figured from water washable it would be faster well how wrong I was it takes 2 times longer than water and it doesn’t really dry at all, it eats through plastic broke all my painting knifes for removing prints the liquid never leaves the print(fast) lol i mean 4 days in front of a dryer and it still inside, it got to a point where it ate through a container I had made a huge mess and I asked elegoo how do I clean this up and they said “99% iso”. I started to do a final wash with iso and eventually just used iso cuz I can dry my prints in 10mjn or less and slap the primer on plus anything that says to wash skin with soap and water for 15min if you get the detergent on your skin is a no go! By the way, nice prints the 8k resin was my first resin now I saw the 8k abs like and I may have to give it a shot! Went through 10kg of standard v2 from black Friday sale amazing quality but the 8k non abs really has insane crisp.
