Just got this game last week and can't wait to sink my war teeth into this one. Great review! Thanks for confirming my thoughts on this one, good to know that this game is getting good reviews from a bunch of different sources. I am actually very glad to hear that the abstraction of the east front and blockade/submarine warfare work well. It lets the game's main focus be where it needs to be, on the Western Front. Like the little guy walking around early on. He'll be war gaming before you know it! LOL!

Rolling 60 dice!?!?

Yeah it is a bucket of dice game so that is to be expected. They do offer a chart that provides for a certain number of hits based on some crazy statistical analysis that you can use if you are averse to rolling that many dice. For me, the dice are fun and add that element of surprise to the outcome of battles. You might have no chance and roll well and come out on top or you might have 60 dice and not roll many hits and wish you would have used the chart! Adds to the lack of intelligence, fog of war and uncertainty that comes from the block game. Thanks for watching.
