What I have noticed after a few days use that it's better to take already cold drinks out of a regular fridge to put in this. I noticed it will keep cans already cold from a regular fridge just as cold as first put in even after 24 hours. I suppose it's of course due to no heat getting in and the cold being trapped inside the small space of course. I noticed it doesn't really get as cold with room temperature drinks going straight into the mini fridge. I have left them in there for over 24 hours and it's a slightly cold touch on cans. It's definitely less cold then using cans already cold from a regular fridge. For me it seems best to keep drinks in the regular fridge downstairs and move them up to this mini fridge as needed. Basically a 12 pack of coke means six in mini fridge while other six in regular fridge until mini fridge needs restocked. I'll probably be using it for energy drinks mostly though but same thing so yeah I think it will work. The only complaint is the buzzing sound from the fan. I can handle the blowing noise but the slight buzz is annoying.

I normally keep my house at 68 degrees and, what do you know, the mini fridge stays consistently at 40 the few times ive checked. I would like just a tad cooler but am happy with what I get. Not exactly icy cold but cold enough. I certainly dont want to risk cans freezing/exploding either. I got the mint colored one and am quite happy with my purchase.

Just curious, how did you get 34-38 degrees as an estimate when it cools 20-28 below ambient? Most optimistic estimate (using max differential and minimum ambient temp you stated) is 70-28 = 42.

This was pretty helpful, I’m about to have my first baby and I was thinking of having one of these by my bed to store breast milk overnight but I guess that wouldn’t be a good idea. Maybe there are others that are more powerful but they all look similar.

Does this stay plug into the outlet the entire time like a real size refrigerator? Or do I plug it in when I need it? Or do it leave plus in always but flip the switch on the back to on when I need it? If I flip the switch to on after it was off would it take hours to reach its full capacity?

I'd say 40s is pretty normal for any refrigerator. Any colder and your fridge will turn into a freezer.
@bakachan36013 ай бұрын
Exactly 32 is freezing The Sweet spot for refrigerators is 40 or less ^^ So like any other time of year except scorching summer if you keep that little thing in an unheated room in your house it will work fine as a normal fridge it might accidentally freeze things XD
@gcanyon31142 ай бұрын
Not normal. Most refrigerant fridges will easily get to 35, which is much better.

It's the compressor and yes it's not like a normal fridge that has to kick on and off, it has a weak compressor that runs the entire time
@KingHarlequin19993 күн бұрын
@@kyledupont7711 This thing doesn't even have a compressor. It is just a glorified peltier device.
@kyledupont77113 күн бұрын
@@KingHarlequin1999 it has a compressor it's nothing like a real fridge though, it runs 24 hrs a day never kicks off, a tiny amount of heat comes out the back. The more stuff you put in it the colder it gets
@KingHarlequin19993 күн бұрын
@@kyledupont7711 It is 100% thermoelectric/peltier based. If it was compressor based, it would had a refrigerant written on the label. I also tore down one of these, and it didn't have any compressor, but instead a peltier module with large heatsink and computer for the hot side, and an solid aluminum block on the cold side, attached to the inner wall of the fridge; and styrofoam insulator.

I work at a small library in a university which actually gets really cold sometimes. We don't have a microwave or a frigde in the lunch area so I been looking at a small frigde for myself in my library, with the cold temperature in the library will this get cold enough to keep my drinks cold all day? Ah, the Peltier-Seebeck thermoelectric device. Ultra inefficient and used to spread Moscow's propaganda in the early days of the Soviet Union. Nice but a mini fridge is more efficient. It may use more power when running but it doesn't have to run anywhere near as long. Thermoelectric units are really only good for Kickstarter scams.

@lenajackson5448 Жыл бұрын
true, they break down quickly. Peltier beats compressors for convenience and light weight in small cooling spaces, though. My Wagan has lasted a year so far but the equipment is on top, so water does get in. I don't care since I just keep capped drinks in it. Paper towels in the bottom.
